Survey: Is medical AI taking over too quickly? New research reveals the majority of the UK population (57%) is worried artificial intelligence (AI) is being adopted too quickly into personalised medicine to allow for the necessary training to be able to use these systems safely.

Vivan Therapeutics CEO Laura Towart presented the latest in personalised cancer treatment at the Forum in Beijing as part of the UK and China Precision Medicine Innovation Collaboration Session. We are very excited to have identified prospective partners.

Our Founder and CEO was invited to join a Biotech Roundtable at the London House of Commons as a member of the biotech startup/scale up community. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with others in the community and learn about issues that are facing us all and discuss potential solutions.

We had some very distinguished guests today at Vivan Therapeutics 's lab in White City, Janet Cooper OBE & Shirley Cooper OBE! It was the perfect opportunity to celebrate the women scientists on our team and women in business and STEM in the UK and around the world

Dr Gaya qualified at St George’s (University of London) 1995 where he was awarded a distinction and several academic prizes. He trained in Clinical Oncology at Imperial College and St Bartholomew’s Hospital and subsequently undertook a Cancer Research UK MD Fellowship in Vascular Targeting Agents for Cancer at University College London. He was a consultant clinical oncologist at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals for 15 years and now works exclusively in the private sector.

Dr. Gaya treats all gastrointestinal tumour sites using chemotherapy, radiotherapy (including SABR), immunotherapy, biological therapies, and utilises data from tumour genome analysis. Dr Gaya’s main interests remain in the areas of functional cancer imaging, combining immunotherapy with radiation treatment, and MRI guided stereotactic radiotherapy.

He is heavily involved with the implementation and usage of the latest radiotherapy techniques such as MRI guided radiotherapy, proton therapy and stereotactic body radiosurgery. He has published and peer-reviewed widely for international journals.

Dr. Gaya is also interested in the introduction of advanced technology such as AI and machine learning to medicine and is a big supporter of Exponential and the Singularity University programs.

We have launched a crowdfunding campaign to support our R&D at Vivan Therapeutics given the difficult funding environment for biotech.

Under an academic and commercial collaboration between The Institute of Cancer Research, London, the Bellvitge Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBELL), Barcelona, and the company Vivan Therapeutics, a multi-disciplinary team will seek to create drugs that can counteract drug resistance.
