Experience a taste of the Highlands with a celebratory Burns Night dinner in our beautiful Windmill Room at Ham Yard Hotel, on Thursday 25th January 2024.

The evening begins at 6.30pm and, in honour of Scottish poet Robert Burns, starts with a canapé and cocktail reception before a five-course Scottish-inspired feast paired with a selection of whiskies. Hosted by our friends at Islay-based whisky distillery Bruichladdich, you’ll learn all about Scottish whisky and discover the nuances between five different, very special bottles.

Executive Chef Jamie Atkinson’s menu includes dishes such as Loch Fyne smoked salmon and Haggis, neeps and tatties, before tucking into the main event, Venison Wellington. For dessert there’s a burnt orange brûlée and the dinner will finish with a cheese course, Strathdon Blue from Tain, paired with a peaty whisky.

Meet Victoria Villella, our Head Pastry Chef at Ham Yard Hotel 👋 Having joined Firmdale Hotels in July 2022, Victoria thrives on the challenge of creating new things and loves that everyday is different, allowing her to expand her creativity.

Victoria enjoys Christmas at Ham Yard Hotel, "the magic happens in the kitchen around this time of year as the tradition is to make a gingerbread village which goes on display in the hotel's lobby. We work months beforehand to create, build and add the last finishing touches. The feedback from our guests is always positive and I think once it’s the beginning of December everyone is cheerful and full of festivity from the delicious scent of the gingerbread houses and Christmas songs that are being played" explains Victoria.

"The neighbourhood around the hotel is so wonderful, especially around this time of year. I love to walk through the local Soho streets and see the lights, it’s an amazing time to soak up the festive spirit" she explains.
