DEMOCRACY DAY MAY 29: NIGERIANS SEEK RELEASE Of NNAMDI KANU.....

LAGOS – Nigerians have intensified calls for the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the embattled Leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB).

Some of the Nigerians who spoke to Sunday Independent, at the weekend, expressed worry over the continued detention and trial of Kanu, despite several court rulings for his release.

It would be recalled that during a ministerial briefing in Abuja and after the recent appearance of Kalu at a Federal High Court in Abuja, the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister Of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), said that only the court can decide if Kanu could be given bail or not.

Fagbemi, who was responding to a question, had said: “If I see Nnamdi Kanu, I don’t know him. So, Nnamdi Kanu is being held under the rule of law and the court.

“Let’s wait for the decision of the court. No one will be held outside the laws of the country.”

One of the citizens, Barrister Emeka Iheonu, a Lagos lawyer, while urghing the Federal Government to discontinue the trial, said the IPOB Leader never at any time called for war against Nigeria.

Speaking with Sunday Independent in Lagos, Barrister Iheonu, said: “I believe the Federal Government should discontinue the terrorism trial of Nnamdi Kanu and free him from detention.

Firstly, he was agitating for a peaceful, rather than violent breakout of the region described as Biafra, from the Nigerian nation. I never heard that he called for war against Nigeria.

“Secondly, a similar agitator for a separate Yoruba, Mr. Sunday Igbogho, who was detained in Benin Republic on the application of the Nigerian government under former President Muhammadu Buhari administration, has since regained freedom, even without undergoing trial.

“Furthermore, the continued detention of Kanu has been the reason for the several violent acts witnessed in the Eastern Region and perpetrated by people who are against the detention of kanu........

Don't forget 30th of may

27/05/2024

After the destruction of Landmark, the Lagos state government reverted to the original plan. This means that the Landmark was destroyed for nothing.

But the most annoying thing there is that an Igbo man in the person of Dave Umahi was used to achieve this.

Why are they always using Igbo men for this?

It is a sign of a conquered people. 90 per cent of Igbo men in Nigeria's government are puppets and slaves.

Many governors were put on seats by Fulani. Governors like Soludo, Uzodimma, Mba and Ebonyi governor. The only difference is that Soludo and Ebonyi governors were installed indirectly by the Fulani while the rest were installed directly.

Presently, the only people's governor is Mazi Oti, the Abia state governor.

People who can't determine who rules them are conquered people. They bring men ready to work against their own people to rule, and they empower men like themselves.

Had it been Umahi refused to destroy that Landmark, the caliphate and their Yoruba wives would get another Igbo man to do the job.

30th May: Remembering Biafran Heroes And Honouring Their Sacrifices

The 30th of May holds immense significance for Biafrans around the world. On this day known as Biafra Heroes remembrance day, the Biafran people gather to honor and remember the Heroes/Heroines who sacrificed their lives in defense of their culture, traditions, value system and land from external aggressors. This solemn occasion serves as a time for reflection, prayers and a call for justice because the wounds inflicted upon the Biafran people have remained unhealed and unappeased.

The Biafra Heroes Day commemorates the Biafran Genocidal War, levied by Nigeria and Britain(United Kingdom), that took place from 1967 to 1970, when the Biafra sought to establish an independent nation. This quest for independence was driven by various factors, including; cultural and ethnic differences, economic disparities, prevention of genocide and the desire to preserve the unique heritage of the Biafran people.

The abundantly blessed land of Biafra by Chiukwu Okike Abiama(the Supreme Creator), possesses vast reserves of mineral and human resources. These blessings became both a source of contention and a catalyst for the tragic events that unfolded. The British colonialists, driven by greed, envy and jealousy sought to control and exploit these resources, leading to the suppression of Biafra's aspirations for independence.

The heroes of Biafra valiantly defended their land against overwhelming odds, standing up against aggression and oppression. They fought to protect their cultural heritage, their way of life, and the future of their children. Their unwavering determination in the face of adversity serves as an inspiration for this generation and generations to come, an embodiment of the resilience and spirit of the Biafran people.

Regrettably, despite the passage of time, justice for the victims of the Biafra Genocide remains elusive. The United Nations, the international body entrusted with upholding justice and human rights have yet to address the atrocities committed against the Biafran people. The British government with its historical involvement in the region, continues to be the minds behind the diplomatic oppression and marginalization of Biafrans in the 21st century.

On Biafra Heroes Day, it is essential to honor the innocent lives lost during the conflict and afterwards. The blood of these heroes cries out for justice and recognition. Their sacrifice must not be forgotten. They must rather be immortalized through remembrance, education and efforts to seek redress for the wrongs committed against them.

The call for justice remains ever pertinent. The international community must acknowledge the genocidal acts perpetrated against the Biafran people and support their pursuit of justice. It is incumbent upon the United Nations, in keeping with its founding principle of a guardian of global peace and security, to heed the cries for justice and ensure that those responsible for the atrocities are held accountable.

Biafra Heroes Day also serves as a reminder to the current generation of Biafrans to cherish and safeguard their culture and traditions. It is through the preservation of their heritage that the Biafran people can pay homage to their fallen heroes/heroines and ensure that their sacrifices are not in vain. The younger generation must be educated about their history, instilling a sense of pride and resilience in the face of adversity.

As the struggle for self-determination continues, fueled by the memory of the fallen and the quest for a brighter future, it is imperative for the international community to recognize the historical injustices perpetrated against the Biafran people. It is a moral obligation to address the atrocities committed during the Biafran Genocidal War and ensure that such human rights violations are never repeated.

Efforts towards justice and recognition should include truth-seeking processes, the establishment of memorial sites and reparations for the victims and their families. By acknowledging the past, society can move towards a future where the wounds of the past are healed and all individuals can coexist in harmony and mutual respect.

Furthermore, Biafra Heroes Day serves as a reminder that the fight for justice and the protection of culture and traditions is an ongoing endeavor. The current generation of Biafrans must keep holding strong the mantle and continue the struggle for self-determination, equal rightsand social justice. It is through their unity, resilience and peaceful advocacy that lasting change can be achieved.

Education plays a vital role in preserving and promoting Biafran culture and traditions. By teaching younger generations about the history and struggles of their people, they can develop a strong sense of identity, pride and a commitment to safeguarding their heritage. Cultural events, art, literature and music can also contribute to the revitalization and celebration of Biafran customs.

Ultimately, Biafra Heroes Day serves as a regrettable reminder that the sacrifices made by the heroes of Biafra should never be forgotten. Their courage, determination and unwavering commitment to their land and people deserve eternal recognition and gratitude. It is through honoring their memory, seeking justice and preserving their legacy that the spirit of Biafra will continue to inspire generations to come.

On this Biafra Heroes Day, let us remember the fallen heroes, pray for their souls, and renew our commitment to the pursuit of justice, freedom and the preservation of Biafran culture and traditions. May their sacrifice always serve as a beacon of hope and resilience for the Biafran people and all those fighting for justice and human rights around the world.

UNNECESSARY CONTROVERSY

Those saying ELEME people of Rivers State are not Igbos should visit communities like: AGBONCHA, INCHIA, OGALE, AKPAJO & EBUGBO and see for yourself the Igbo language and culture that they speak and practice.

Again the controversy over the true name and ownership of OYIGBO/OBIGBO is unnecessary because
the territory called OYIGBO in Rivers State is collectively owned by, Etche, Ndoki and eleme people.

Note that both ELEME, ETCHE AND NDOKI people are IGBOS, they speak Igbo, bear Igbo names with Igbo culture, so if that be the case it's not a bad idea to name the area as "OBIGBO" Since it's predominantly owned by the three Igbo tribes.

We are on a mission to Unify IGBO NATION.

ANOTHER IKWERRE SON DISPROVE THE IKWERRE/ BININ THEORY

We cannot dispute the fact that before precolonial Nigeria, the Bini civilization was the pride and the jewel of this rainforest vegetation south of the Niger river. She developed a culture which transcended generations, thanks to the Edo speaking people. But who were this Edo people and how are they related to the Ikwerres of Rivers State culturally and politically?
One can not talk about the Benin people without mentioning their most popular festival called The Igue Festival; it is a spiritual and indigenous event celebrated yearly in Benin from time immemorial to thank Osanobua (God) for a fruitful year and to reinforce the pre-eminent position occupied by the great Oba.
The Ikwerres in contrast celebrate the New Yam festival; called Ji'oku in some northern Ikwerre communities like Elele and Akpabu, while some southern clans like Akpor call it Eke rukani, where elaborate masquerades and wrestling bout are a sight to mark the end of farming season and to reflect on brotherhood. In all of the above mentioned Ikwerre clans/communities the writer wishes to point out that right from common era none of them had any monarch who had regal powers enough to rally an army, exert tax from its subject. Rather a man is a diali if he's a freeborn, had his own obiri which signified his level of independence. A clan gathered at a Clan Head's obiri (a hall where communual matters where deliberated on), where he, the clan head, did not have prerogative rights like all monarchs in the right sense. So I ask this simple question, how can a people be related or be called a vassal - I used the word vassal because that's what some Benin culture wanabes wishes to make the Ikwerre people appear- if they do not share any political similarities. There were no recorded time when our ancestors ever paid tax to any Oba as his ruler, nor saw Osanobua as their Supreme God, but rather we lived a republican life and saw Chiokike, which is the same with Central Igbo Chiukwu or Chineke; which the Ikwerres are a subgroup.

Who is an Oba of Benin? He was the head of the kingdom, both as a political and spiritual leader. He led the council of chiefs who made decisions on matters such as war, trade, taxation and ceremonial events. These were his roles in the Benin Kingdom and all of its vassal towns pledged fealty to him. A vassal chief had the right to levy and tax each maize, goat, or any farm products on his behalf on the people of that town, and stipulated amounts were expected from every town on his behalf. Although he consulted with his cabinet on matters of war, he was an absolute ruler who draws his legitimacy from the time of godkigs (Ogiso) era. Any dissident town was sacked by her, and made of an example to other towns and villages.
A deep look at the cultural and political structure of the Ikwerres will show you that they have been communal and republican in their political structure, they were never taxed or had any King who exerted all of those influences which a Benin monarch had. Every town is a unit of it's own. Matters are deliberated within a republican setting with all freeborn having a say in the affairs of their community and never paying tax to anyone and never accepted any dominance or lordship from any individual. Which is the same culturally in almost all Igbo speaking areas.

Finally, i wish any Benin propagandist to logically prove to some of us the resemblance of the Ikwerre culture to the Edo culture.

This is what you get when you foolishly subject yourself to the wills of the imperialists to the determent of your people . African Union and have proven to Africans that they are modern willing tools of neocolonialism to continue subjugating African people.

🇳🇪 🇧🇫 🇲🇱 ECOWAS is influenced by the West – it makes sense for Burkina Faso, Niger and Mali expert says

The withdrawal of the three African countries from ECOWAS can only benefit them in terms of both security and sovereignty, Malian analyst Abdoul Diallo, head of Radio Couleurs Media said.

"We cannot remain in an organization under the influence of foreign powers. The sanctions against Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger were not taken lightly. The ECOWAS leaders were instructed by France and its allies to take criminal measures against our people," Diallo stressed.

BREAKING: 🇳🇪🇲🇱🇧🇫 Niger, Mali and Burkina Faso quit ECOWAS regional block

Niger, Mali and Burkina Faso said on Sunday they are leaving the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) immediately, according to a joint statement.

"After 49 years, the valiant peoples of Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger regretfully and with great disappointment observe that the (ECOWAS) organization has drifted from the ideals of its founding fathers and the spirit of Pan-Africanism," Colonel Amadou Abdramane, Niger junta spokesman, said in the statement.

"The organization notably failed to assist these states in their existential fight against terrorism and insecurity," Abdramane added.

Nnamdi Kanu Supreme count judgment, matters arising.

No wonder the Supreme Court is hiding the certified document of the ruling. Because it wasn't collective decision of the 5 justices.
3 out of the 5 justices refused to sign the judgment citing flawed judgment that is against local and international law.

I got a very reliable Information From Abuja that Bandits have Officially Informed Nyesom Wike the minister of the Federal Capital Territory, That they will chase him Away from Abuja. Although Nigerian government are trying to downplay this information, but the fact is that people are no longer sleeping with their 2 eyes closed in Nigeria Capital city Abuja as the activities of these terror groups continue to rise in every part of Abuja. My Source told me that the Terror group referred Nyesom Wike as an "Infidel" that must be chased back to Rivers State where he belongs.

IPOB has called for the removal of indiscriminate military and Police checkpoints mounted to harass and extort money from Biafrans. The uncountable checkpoints in Biafra Land are not only used for extortion of money at gunpoint but are also used for kidnapping, organ harvesting, and forceful disappearance of many Igbo youths. The new style of using vigilante security groups and civilians in Biafra Land by the Nigeria Security Forces at these illegal checkpoints to extort money from Biafrans is not acceptable.----IPOB
