Autism and kids on the spectrum were always been a topic that was very close to my heart. I was approached by Nathan’s mom a few months ago and she thought that I would be a good role model and help him get through some difficult situations in life while he learns the basic of cooking. I must say that I was nervous. As you can imagine the level of responsibility. And I am by all means, not a certified therapist but…
Growing up around autism, I felt the least misunderstood around kids on the spectrum, let alone judged. So I fell in love and embraced them. I always felt misunderstood myself, I knew that I was thinking and acting differently than others regardless of being gay. My brain always worked faster and differently than other kids.
This is my second month with Nathan. And I am so very proud of what we have achieved so far. I feel that no matter who the person that stands in front of you is, you need to first, gain their trust. And we did ☺️
After baking and cooking together with just a bit of success, yesterday I felt there was a breakthrough moment when I explained Nathan and showed him the best way to feel potatoes. He did such a great job and I am so proud of the patience and dedication he showed. He really stepped up to the challenge.
Food therapy is definitely my next chapter in life. How incredible and fulfilling it is to be able to do that??Food and cooking have saved my life in so many ways and I know it can save others. You dive into something that is completely out of your comfort zone, it distracts you from everything else in life and you discover a world that you can get lost in and achieve so much.
I am very thankful for the opportunity and for Nathan’s trust and loyalty. For the love that he shows me and for how happy he is to see me and to cook together. Like I always say, food is more than just food. It is a language that connects and unites people.
It is an incredible tool to manifest love and compassion.
This is just the beginning. There’s more to come…
I love cooking brunch for my friends and I enjoy it even more when my dear friend is capturing my work in such a beautiful way ❤️
On the menu: Shakshuka, heirloom tomatoes salad, roasted peppers with whipped feta and fresh oregano, roasted and marinated aubergines with tahini cream and sumac, hummus with chickpeas stew, crunchy coleslaw salad and obviously a Babka ☺️
Shanna Tova 🍯🍎🎗️ This past year was a war between light and darkness. This next year, we must do all in our power to have the light win, diminishing the darkness, and bring our hostages back home. Sending love to all of you out there. Am Israel Chai ✡️
Shabbat Shalom 🙌🏻

Complicated mornings 💋
& already proved us that they are terror supporters. Will you be surprised if they are sponsoring this chaos?
I know it might feel difficult to celebrate this year, especially when we still have 133 hostages in Gaza being held by a group of evil terrorists who will not be celebrating this holiday with their loved ones. When antisemitism is on the rise again and being legitimised and allowed. Unfortunately, it was always like this for us Jews. We were always harassed, murdered, bullied and tortured. But we also prevailed! Each and every time! Because unlike a lot of other communities, we always supported each other, always knew that we must stick together and be there for each other. We are a drop in a very large ocean yet, we are able to make such a difference in this world on every level. We are motivated and not taking what we have for granted because we earned it.
We are strong and we are able to get through everything just like we did over and over again.
Cheers to another year. Happy Passover to all of you and most importantly BRING THEM HOME NOW!!! ✡️

The line must be drawn somewhere…
Do you still rather stick your head in the sand?

I’m grateful for every publication who’s ever written about my babka journey since day one. But there’s a special place in my heart to my Jewish community and its major support in what I’m doing. I couldn’t be more proud of my heritage representing it! ❤️
It’s spring time. And this Malabi is not just delicious, it’s vegan ☺️
I can’t be more proud to see my name attached to Jewish projects and along such inspiring list of Jewish chefs who I am so inspired by.
Jewish Family Recipes is a community cookbook that was made in order to raise awareness and funds for hunger programs. The recipes and images were all donated by the chefs and community members, and the book was compiled and designed for free by members of the JFSLA Young Leaders.

Every time I see my name attached to anything that is Jewish it gives me great pride. Especially in times like this, where some of us are scared, confused, or trying to somewhat hide our Jewishness. We should stand together and fight against antisemitism. We are not what we use to be. We have proved ourselves to be strong and to get through darkness times over and over again. By being who we are and celebrate our Jewishness, we will diminish this darkness and reveal light.

So now they own the rights to falafel, baklava, Basbousa, hummus and every other Levantine / Middle Eastern dish that is out there. And, Now we are accused of not just stealing their country, we are stealing their culture, and their food. Give me a fu***ng break, dude!
I filmed two, full length tutorial, babka classes that are going to be released very soon on my website. I’m so excited for all of you to see it 😀

Shabbat shalom to all my jewish brothers and sisters around the world. I pray that soon we will see all of our hostages back home where they belong with their loved ones, Amen! We will get through this just like we did before - together. Am Israel chai ✡️
As an Iraqi- Jew, who grew up on this delicious dish, I had to learn how to make it. Kubba Halab is an Iraqi version of the original Kubba, named in homage to the Syrian city of Halab who’s famous for its many types of it.
They are golden and crisp dumplings, usually made with bulgur or rice. Crunch on the outside with spiced, lamb and stuffing, these are super addictive and by the time you finish frying all of them - they are gone! Ask my mom 😜
I like serving it with a fresh cucumber, pomegranate and mint salad for some freshness.
I’m still amazed by this beauty every time I make another one 🤍
During World War II, Libya’s Jewish population was subjected to antisemitic laws by the Fascist Italian regime and deportations by N**i German troops. Moving to Israel and bringing their beautiful culture and food, one dish stuck and became a staple on Israeli modern cuisine with a lot of different interpretations.
It’s called Mafrum and it’s made with hollowed out, root vegetables that are filled with a blend of ground meat and spices. These stuffed vegetables are then fried and simmered in a tomato-based sauce. While potatoes are the vegetable typically being used.
