Devil’s Door have come up with a killer flash sheet of Lastelle art for your body, LD’s Kitchen has brewed up a very special, spicy, bird eye chilli garlic sauce for your soul, and for your mind (or to the detriment thereof) and the bar team have put together a mean tequila-based bramble concoction the “Lastelle Sad Boy” to sip on as you sing along.

Finally, you miiiiight (if you’re super lucky) get a chance to hear some new trax on the day too at the Marshall listening booth, so get those ears perked up n ready

The Black Heart Birthday appreciation post no.3

THE VENUE !!

The jewel in our abode. Stickered and flecked with the remnants of thousands of sets. From day one in the venue we’ve adopted a nothing half-arsed policy… (as can be noted by the size of our PA 💦 )…. consistently striving to bring you the very best of the heavy underground from all over the world, and loads more beyond. From humble comedy beginnings, to the chaotic shows in front of the curtain, to taking hold of the bookings and making the place soar, through to where we are today post-covid and still slamming out a terrific din thanks all the donors that contributed to the crowdfunder and our current team.

Over the years our stage (intimate to some, hallowed to many), has hosted raging festivals, future grammy winners, arena headliners and huge underplays… but most importantly it’s been the setting to the debut UK shows of countless bands who’ve gone on to mean so much to a plethora of people, as well as (some would say most importantly) some of the LOUDEST, heaviest and sweatiest shows London has ever seen.

On the topic of face-meeting sound, it wouldn’t be right to reflect on the venue without giving a huge shoutout to our head tech and her team of audio wizards that keep the shows sounding killer throughout. True diamonds that keep the waves of crushing noise rolling at all costs!

For this one we look at the enigmatic
DEVIL’S DOOR TATTOO

As the years go on, we always want to make sure that we keep evolving and adding to what we offer to Camden Town… and the latest addition to our repertoire here, situated right about our venue has been decorating bodies for the past 10 months, with so much stunning work coming out of the studio, it’s hard to keep track of it all!

Big shoutout to the sorceress of the studio, owner/artist and her uber-talented resident artists and .cosietattoos.__ as well as all the amazing guest spots that have come through too.

These are literally the best “neighbours” anyone could ask for, a constant source of artistic inspiration to us, and an enchanting gothic haven for our twisted broken heads, so to celebrate their presence we’ve gone and made a big olde goth / dark electro playlist for them and you to get stuck into. Find the link in our bio to get ya sad on !

The team have loads more in the works including some exciting upcoming collabs, so while ya giving the tunes a listen, don’t be a whimp, follow and get yourself booked in to get inked up right away!!

Since our 15th birthday is tomorrow we’re taking a moment to appreciate some of what we’ve got kicking these days in our little dark corner of Camden Town.

First up - OUR KITCHEN !

Run by the legend that is .kitchen, we serve up some of the best homecooked vegan soul food anywhere in London (just ask Time Out who keep ranking us in among top places to eat in town) 7 days a week, offering Wing Wednedays, Saturday Brunches, Sunday Roasts and a killer menu all the rest of the time. It’s become so in-demand that LD has had to open a second location - a vegan smokehouse over at the Saint Monday Brewery!

LD herself is a true legend, an utter powerhouse of a chef, a wicked bass player too, and the most badass person you could wish to find yaself tackling a dive bar with.

Here’s to loads more incredible menu ideas, insane collaborations, supper clubs, special sauces and appearances from Sprinkles in the years to come !!

This coming Tuesday (10th September) marks FIFTEEN glorious years of hosting you all here in our dark corner of London’s historical and notorious den of iniquity, Camden Town

There’ve been far, far, FAR too many gloriously intoxicated nights in the bar and a wealth of mind-shatteringly amazing shows in the venue over the last fifteen years to mention them by name. But if you’ve been on even the smallest part in this journey with us, know that we’ll be drinking in your honour on Tuesday.

Whether you’ve been indulging in giddy hedonism and heroic noise with us from day one, or you’ve only found our realm more recently, THANK YOU for being a part of it. Here’s to the next fifteen!

We’re still feeling the after-effects of space travel induced vertigo (it was definitely that and not the several Thermothruster cocktails being downed), but that was one hell of a way to celebrate the anniversary of their debut record. Killer sets from (inc an appearance by of ) and the mighty force of too. So much love being shown to the extra details added to the happening (particular shoutout to .bsfx for the sick props and tubular detailing across the venue), and of course for themselves who were channeling their immense and immersive best.
kitchen “Palate Loss” space rocks sold out in record time too, and were devoured inhumanly by all who were lucky to get their claws upon them!

We’ve also received numerous reports of an extraterrestrial presence having invaded our box office on the evening in question to usher folks into the void... We’re not sure what that was either, and frankly we’re too afraid to find out ! Answers on an intergalactic postcard !

When we said that Wallowing were gonna be taking the place over when they come to celebrate 5 years of PLANET LOSS here at The Black Heart this Saturday, we weren’t messin’. In addition to all the exclusive merch, re-issued records and insane details they’re bringing to the show, they’ve even infiltrated the bar and LD’s Kitchen as they’ll both be serving up one-offs for the happening too!

👽 From the Black Heart Kitchen we’ve got “PALATE LOSS” wings! LD’s signature vegan wings, beamed into the cosmos, slathered in a ridiculously delicious (and ridiculously coloured) hot + sour green chilli sauce - and a dash of space dust for good measure.

🚀 And to sufficiently quench the thirst after a galactic voyage, we knew we had to come up with something special to drink. BEHOLD the THERMOTHRUSTER. Tequila, Blue Curacao and OJ garnished with Dragonfruit. Every bit as delicious as it is luminous.
