Currently, there are more than 12,000 prostate cancer deaths in the UK. A new national trial led by researchers at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and Imperial College London with University College London, Queen Mary University of London and The Institute of Cancer Research will recruit thousands across the UK to find the best way to screen for prostate cancer and potentially reduce cancer deaths by up to 40%. Black men have double the risk for #ProstateCancer compared to other men. The £42million TRANSFORM trial, backed by Prostate Cancer UK, will ensure that at least 10% of patients invited to participate are Black men.
