Now available online.... A very special, one-off limited edition pair of sakes. Brewed in conjuction with the YOSHIDA estate and Dulwich Picture Gallery; which is currently running an exhibit of artwork until November 2024. Celebrating three generations of print making, these two splendid artworks are courtesy of the Fukuoka Art Museum.

Each sake has been brewed to be reminiscent of the richer, traditional styles of sake enjoyed at the time of the early 20th century. Both sake are brewed using a single moromi, then split into two different styles - one cloudy and the other clear. Resulting in a complimentary Brother & Sister twin bottle pair.

Both sake are:

Medium/Sweet -14 SMV
Gohyakumangoku rice (Toyama, Japan)
Polishing rate 70%
#701 Japanese sake yeast
18.5% ABV / 375ml

Celebrate the last day of in style with a very special hanami (cherry blossom viewing) themed sake pairing event! 🌸🍬🍶

Join sake educator and Japanese culture expert Sarah Stewart at the KANPAI Taproom, where we will be pairing sake with a variety of spring seasonal wagashi: Japan’s famous traditional confectionary that traditionally accompanied matcha green tea.

Made primarily from plant-based ingredients including azuki beans and rice, these sweets are individually handcrafted by skilled artisans into edible works of art and are meant to be enjoyed with all five senses. Designs are heavily influenced by Japan’s 24 microseasons, and since National Sake Week was timed to coincide with peak cherry blossom viewing, we will be bringing all the sakura to you at this tasting!

At the workshop you will taste four different wagashi paired with five different sake, four selected from Japanese sake breweries alongside one of KANPAI’s very own British sake.

The event will take place on the mezzanine overlooking KANPAI’s brand new sake brewery in London Bridge.

Time & Date: 12.30pm-2.00pm, on Sunday 21st April, 2024

Far from the memories of a harsh warm liquid served at the end of a big noodle meal, Japan opened our eyes to real, quality sake. It's such a versatile, clean, and unique drink.

Ever since, we have spent time sampling, experimenting, and producing many different styles and varieties of sake.

We believe we have successfully honed our techniques and developed our own unique style. We're driven to produce the best small batch, craft sake possible so our fellow Londoners can fall in love too.

Kanpai is the first sake to be produced in London. We started brewing in Peckham in 2017, and moved to our new space in Copeland Park in 2018 with a tap room upstairs. Please do pop down on a weekend to enjoy fresh sakes - we have tours and brew courses too!

Bring on the sake revolution!

We can't wait to dry many cups with you.
