Fragment wywiadu ze mną dla Cluster, w grudniu 2022.
"Co chciałabyś, żeby ludzie czuli nosząc Twoją biżuterię?"

Dla mnie biżuteria jest miniaturowym symbolem i przesłaniem osoby, która ją nosi. Informuje o wrażliwości tej osoby i o tym, co uważa za piękne. To wiele mówi. Jednocześnie biżuteria jest dla mnie jednym z najważniejszych przejawów sztuki i ludzkich umiejętności zamkniętych w jednym malutkim przedmiocie. Wymaga nie tylko ciągłego rozwoju człowieka jako twórcy i artysty, który ma coś ważnego do powiedzenia światu, ale także człowieka jako rzemieślnika, bo nie wybacza najmniejszych błędów technicznych. Ponadto ma czynnik użytkownika, którego nie ma w malarstwie czy rzeźbie, a który oczekuje od dzieła sztuki dużej trwałości i wygody. Wartość tej ogromnej pracy, którą wykonuje się własnymi rękami, umysłem i duszą, jest jeszcze większa, gdy jest wykonana z unikalnych, pięknych i drogich materiałów. Taki wydatek to także ryzyko i poświęcenie dla każdego artysty-jubilera, co moim zdaniem dotyka w jakiś sposób sacrum, czyli poświęcenia się dla czegoś ważniejszego od siebie – aktu tworzenia. Powstaje wtedy w moich oczach niekwestionowany skarb człowieczeństwa, reprezentujący to, co w danej epoce uważane jest za esencję piękna. Vivienne Becker, znana historyczka sztuki, powiedziała, że w starożytności złotnicy byli postrzegani niemal jak kapłani, ponieważ poprzez swoją natchnioną pracę mieli niemal bezpośredni kontakt z bogami. Myślę, że to naprawdę piękna koncepcja.
Byłoby mi bardzo miło, gdyby ktoś, kto ma moje dzieło, poczuł, że to nie jest tylko przedmiot, ale prawdziwe dzieło sztuki, które powstało dzięki ciężkiej pracy, świadomemu poświęceniu, głębokim emocjom i ma prawdziwą historię, która stoi za samym faktem jego powstania.

Part of an interview with me done for Cluster jewellery Fair in 2022:
"What do you want someone to feel when they wear your jewellery? "

For me, jewelry is a miniature symbol and message of the person who wears it. It informs about the sensitivity of this person and about what she/he considers beautiful. That says a lot. At the same time, for me, jewelry is one of the most important manifestations of art and human skills enclosed in one tiny object. It requires not only the continuous development of a man as a creator and artist who has something important to say to the world, but also a man as a craftsman, because it does not forgive the smallest technical mistakes. In addition, it has a user factor that is absent in painting or sculpture, which expects great durability and comfort from a work of art. The value of this enormous amount of work, which is done with one's own hands, mind and soul, is magnified when it is made of unique, beautiful and expensive materials. Such an expense is also a risk and sacrifice for every artist-jeweller, which in my opinion touches the sacrum in some way, i.e. sacrificing oneself for something more important than oneself - the act of creation. Then an indisputable treasure of humanity is created in my eyes, representing what is considered the essence of beauty in a given era. Vivienne Becker, a well-known art historian, said that during antiquity, goldsmiths were seen almost as priests, because they had almost direct contact with the gods through their inspired work. I think it's a really beautiful concept.
I would love, if someone, who has my piece of work, felt that it is not just an object, but a true piece of art, that came from hard work, conscious sacrifice, deep emotions and has a real story that stands behind its very existence.
