A warm welcome from the BWW team to new starter Owen Morris Owen has joined us as Pilates Matt teacher and will be teaching Saturdays at 10:45 & 12 noon “My Pilates classes are based on the original classical Mat Pilates methods Joseph Pilates originally created. Due to my dance background I try and combine elements of this in my classes - including a lot of movement to increase mobility and suppleness in the body. I try and combine Pilates exercises that incorporate opening out of the chest/shoulder area and removing tension. #repost Ben Chapman - Strength & Performance Coaching ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If your struggle with wrist pain when pressing or pulling a barbell, positioning the bar when front squatting, hand balancing or you have just been single throughout lockdown, then you might need to work on your wrist mobility. . Here are 3 simple, but potentially pain easing and effective drills to improve performance with all those movements and more. . 1/ With the palms down and the fingers facing forward and backwards, push the hands into the ground and rock your weight forwards and backwards 5 times. Follow this by creating five clockwise and anti-clockwise circles. . 2/ Keep the palms facing down, but change the position of the hands with the fingers facing inwards and outwards. Repeat the forwards/backwards and clockwise/anti-clockwise sequence as in the first video. . 3/ Move the palms into an upwards position and start by rotating the elbows inwards and outwards five times. Then with the elbows facing backwards try and grip a first five times. If this is achievable see if you can keep the fist grip whilst rocking forwards/backwards and clockwise/anti-clockwise circles. This is especially helpful if you do lots of ring work. www.BodyWorksWest.co.uk
