Grilled Goats Cheese. Magnific!

We have been building up on coppers for the last 10+ years. The time has come to make a far greater use for them.

Guess its value in £££'s

The winner gets a lovely case of red wine! You also get to donate all those coppers to a local sporting charity so it's keeping in sync with the Olympic spirit. We will change them into note form not to worry!

An Approach clue: Its heavy.

The Approach has lost one of its most precious figures far too soon.

We have lost our Mick.

This one has been very tough. A treasured character within these four walls. We were too fortunate to be called his local.

Certain people throughout our individual journeys are clearly remembered, they stick with you. One thing MIck did for sure to us all was engulf us with laughter and friendship. His humour was so infectious within this rapidly changing world where you can't do this or you can't say that as you may offend an endangered type of aubergine in North Dakota...Well, "why don't you F # # # off!" as Mick would beautifully say, 47 times a night. He brought that wonderful refreshing wave of normality and simplicity upon you. He made you stop worrying about the needless little things. Just have a laugh! Call it old school humour heightened by many pints of Guinness and a pub atmosphere to back him up, it just formed THE winning cocktail. He came alive here and was a joy to talk to. A real joy.

He loved having a laugh with the team and terrorising newbies for the rest of their days if they didn't pour his precious Guinness correctly, "Cheers for the half!" Barked at anyone who hogged all the fireplace. (According to him, only he was allowed to plonk his arse right on top of it). We could go on and on. He was part of the pub.

Mick was always the last to arrive and the last to leave the pub 6/7 days a week. We would be worried if he didn't arrive on any given day. Speaks volumes of how highly we loved him here. The bell for last orders would ring and the seasoned warrior would arrive. Impeccable timing. You were proud when you saw a new member of the team had Mick's Guinness poured without being asked. He earnt that service. Not many get that treatment in life. Or deserve it.

Oh how we miss him and there will never be enough words on here.  Instead we shall continue to shout loudly about the great man in this pub he adored.

We're a little down here, have too much Guinness now and definitely too few chocolates.

Love you, miss you and finally be at peace. Your pub.

"If you cannot have a laugh, there's no point living" Michael Patrick Davy
