Over 100 people joined us last Saturday for the finale to Volume 2, Chapter 1 for the busiest day of D&D yet at RPG Taverns!
It was an incredible wrapped up with the heroic death of two player characters felling the God of the Hollow đ¤Ż
Check out our summary of the day below, and join us as we embark on Chapter 2!!
Led by Witchfinder Alissa, the adventurers charged blindly into the heart of the Ashwood, ready to face the Hollow head on. Despite the ominous symbol of the Hollow appearing on their own map, the adventurers ignored the warning signs and fell into a carefully laid trap. Thirteen members of the Hollow, including Witchfinder Alissa herself, had harnessed the forest's power to create a massive hex, imprisoning the adventurers in their darkest nightmares. Betrayed and bewitched, the Aranoans were helpless...
..until a mysterious figure released a small group, who navigated the Hollowâs base to free their fellow adventurers. Deep beneath the Ashwood, they confronted the thirteen members of the Hollow coven, discovering that many were familiar faces from their adventures across Harhaven. Their mission culminated in the discovery of the Hollowâs source of power - an ancient god named Ellowstara who took the form of a great tree deep within the Hollow's lair. After a brutal battle the god was felled and the Hollowâs magic was destroyed. The final members of the Hollow coven were captured and imprisoned, and the other Aranoans and surviving Witchfinders were rescued.
Hearing that the Hollow had been defeated, King Albert of Harhaven ordered the gates of Harford City to be reopened - just in time for Hexfest.
Our next Feature GM session has already sold out, but we'd be remiss if we didn't get you all excited for it anyways!
The wonderful Phil Kelly is taking a group of adventurers to Primordia, for ""The God Beneath the Veil"":
A god thought long dormant has awokenâor so the whispers in Waywold suggest.
The town is rife with unnerving rumours and chilling portents, all pointing to a presence far more sinister than mere superstition. Just two days' journey from the illustrious City of Aurelium, you have been dispatched by The Council of Faith to probe the unsettling claims. Seek out Elda Cardaye, the reclusive burgomaster of Waywold, and unravel the truth behind the townâs harrowing belief that an ancient and malevolent deity now walks among them.
With over six years in the world of D&D (more if we're counting video games) and two years as a professional GM, Phil Kelly brings a wealth of experience to the table, and we can guarantee an epic and unique experience for those lucky enough to have gotten a ticket to his tale!
Fancy yourself a beer lover? Well joining our range of great tap beers are two Imperial Stouts that are the definition of limited edition!
Say hello to 's Shadow Puppet and Show Goat. At 11.4% and 12% respectively, these beers are not for the light-hearted (trust us, we've tried them...) but they are delicious.
With only 500 Show Goat's and 600 Shadow Puppet's in existence, they're also incredibly special! The Show Goat is already gone, so get Shadow Puppet while stocks last!
Our range of Indie Games got a little bigger this month, with Nice Marines coming to the Taven for the first time ever!
It's already sold out, as has Call of Cthulhu and Blades in the Dark, but there are a couple of tickets left for Blood on the Clocktower.
Click the link in bio to get yours now, before they sell out too!
If you've been at the Tavern over the last couple of weeks, you'll have noticed some new crisps are on the shelves.

đ Halloween Party đ
That's right, we're hosting our first ever social at the Tavern on October 26th!
We'll be celebrating halloween from 8 till late across the entire top floor of the venue, with a themed cocktail menu, special beers and a little spooky music for you all.
We'll still be running D&D across the day, but during the evening session, all games will take place downstairs, meaning anyone who isn't playing can start celebrating with us from 8PM.
Fancy dress is optional, but our staff will be doing it so not join in! The theme? Dungeons & Dragons (what else could it be?!). That can be anything from a middle aisle vampire costume to bringing your character to life!
If you'd like to come down, tickets are just ÂŁ1, and are available through the link in bio now!
Since the launch of Volume Two, our adventurers have been spending a lot of time in the land of Harhaven.
Well, now we have a map for that, so you can have a better idea of where your adventures have been taking place!
With the Ashwood, Little Dunley and more included, check out where you've been travelling too, combatting the Hollow and much more.
We love promoting smaller breweries in London, and recently we finally got to show off one of our favourites!
Blondies was set up by 3 Aussie sisters nearly a decade ago, has been a cornerstone of the London community, serving up solid drinks, insane music and even better people.
We've been waiting for them to keg their beers since we opened, and the second they did, we had them on tap in the Tavern.
As the only pub in London serving Blondies outside of their own tap room, we're thrilled to be able to share it with our community, and we hope to be sharing plenty more!
The world of Aranoa, and RPG Taverns as a whole, is built entirely on the wonderful community that plays in it.
Players bringing their characters to life, whether through roleplay, epic moments, incredible combat prowess, or in this case through art, is what makes the whole so exciting to play.
We wanted to put the spotlight on some of the players who've gone that extra step to generate their own artwork of their character, and Elly Williams is helping us kick this series off!
Elly has already used her artistic prowess to create a lot of our bespoke logos that you'll see in indie games and more, but she's also created this incredible artwork for her character Lily.
We asked Elly about her character and how she came about creating her art:
Lily is a Halfling Monk who is loosely inspired by my grandma. Lily has had many great moments including dispatching a corrupted Axebeak with a corrupted egg - literally killing two birds with one stone. She was also the first person to talk to the ânewâ gods and form a religion to one of them. For Lilyâs artwork I use Procreate. Iâve been using it for about 18 months which has involved plenty of experimenting. Everyone starts somewhere so donât be afraid to try things out.

Weâre excited to announce that RPG Taverns is adopting the 2024 Rules for D&D from October 1st!
Our GMs are on-board and ready to deliver the same fantastic D&D experience you know and love - with minor changes to gameplay, updates to character creation, and brand new features such as Weapon Masteries.
New players will be given all the information they need about the new rules in character creation. We will continue to cater for new players of all levels of experience - from total beginners to experienced adventurers.
Existing players will be able to use their 2014 characters and content until 1 December. However, we highly recommend that you re-spec your character to use 2024 content as soon as possible. Youâll gain access to the 2024 classes, species, backgrounds, feats, spells, and more!
Weâve posted a detailed FAQ in the announcement channel of our Discord for existing players. Check it out for more information, including our rationale for the change and the process for re-speccing 2014 characters.

With the new Volume, is a new foe: The Hollow.
Long ago, the people of Harhaven drove the Hollow from their lands. Their recent return has caused Harford City to close its gates out of fear. Fashioned from twigs, brambles, and mud, these mindless constructs can take on many forms. From spindly humanoids to hulking behemoths, each one seems to serve only the will of their unseen masters. Who, or what, is behind their return?
We know very little about this foe right now, but with your help, hopefully we can start to chip away at this mysterious danger.

With the launch of Volume Two, we now have a whole new world to explore in Aeon, and Noa's Rest has a very interesting new addition...
Adventurers can now take a portal to Harhaven, and encounter new enemies, allies and challenges, meaning more than ever, no two nights playing D&D at RPG Taverns are the same.
But what awaits in Harhaven?
It is a dark and moody land, filled with wide open moors, ancient forests, sleepy hamlets, where the sun hasnât peaked through the clouds in a generation. To the east lies Harford City, the capital and seat of power for the ruling Harhaven family. After the re-emergence of an ancient foe, the bustling metropolis has closed its gates to outsiders, leaving the rest of the kingdom to fend for themselves.
And our town?
Finally, a beach bar was built! The Harpy's Nest is fully operational... as is the magical portal tearing the space-time continuum apart across the street. But don't worry about that - the bar has cocktails!

We pride ourselves on offering some of the best drinks we can at RPG Taverns, and the latest upgrade on our bar was installed recently!
's London Black Nitro Porter has been a huge win with a lot of you, so much so we've worked with them to get a line installed on the bar.
If you haven't tried it before and are curious, be sure to ask our staff for a little taster!
Our community is full of wonderfully talented individuals, and we've loved sharing their work when the chance arises.
We're doing that right now with the incredible Tania, who's craftwork has been gracing our Tavern over the last week and a half.
A Living Thing creates handcrafted, nature-inspired jewellery and mystical artefacts, blending the beauty of the natural world with the magic of D&D.
The stall will be at the Tavern until the 13th of September, so make sure to check out their wares while they're in the pub, and to see what Tania's work is like!
