History & Sips: The Britannia's Beginnings

Welcome to the first chapter of our "History & Sips" series!

Did you know that Britannia Pub, nestled on Allen Street, is steeped in history? The street was named after the dashing Thomas Allen—a tailor turned military uniform supplier during the Napoleonic Wars. But that’s not all! In 1834, our pub was also home to the Britannia Brewery, founded by Allen alongside partners Edward Herington and William Wells.

This week, we're featuring Young's London Original—a 3.7% ABV bitter that embodies the spirit of London. Formerly known as Young's Bitter, this brew has been a local favourite for decades. Come raise a glass and sip on history with us!
