In 2019 I was privileged to perform “The Ballad of Ray and Julie” with its writer Jeff Young. The ballad was inspired by the iconic Liverpool London Road art work by Alan Dunn and Brigette Jurack.
Now Ray and Julie have entered a new chapter as Ray becomes ASCENSION on The Liverpool Plinth winning Alan The Liverpool Sculpture Prize 2024 👏👏👏

Have they split up? Has Julie died? We may never know but it makes being part of this piece even more special:

So saddened to hear about the death of Shane Mac Gowan.
Lashing Rain Voice Overs name is taken from a line in Shane's song "Aisling" that he wrote for Christy Moore to record.

Shane may have had his demons but he was a inspiration to many, including myself, a musical genius and my god what a lyricist!

"What most audiobook listeners don’t realize is just how little of their payment for their next listen actually gets to the author. In fact, most authors don’t realize it either until they review their royalty statements. That’s when they discover that the royalty percentages they were lured in with were of the NET profit, not the gross revenue from each sale.
