Our Feel the Difference Fund is helping Looked After Children in Essex unlock the knowledge they need to make healthy, balanced food choices – empowering them to make informed decisions about their diet and physical health. Colourful new 'portion plates' - purchased with a grant from the fund - advise how much of a meal should consist of fruits and vegetables, carbohydrates and proteins.

Congratulations to our recent award winners! Our Surrey Diabetes Team won the Hypo Awareness Week Excellence Award at the Quality in Care Awards for their promotion of and work during Hypo Awareness Week in September. Our School Nursing Team in Bath and North East Somserset won the Nursing in the Community Award at the Nursing Times Awards for their 'Clinic in a Box' initiative, which helps young people to access sexual health support. We are so proud of our teams!

Supported by our Lancashire Healthy Young People and Families Service, five fantastic, newly trained volunteers will soon be providing additional support to parents in Burnley through Empowering Parents Empowering Communities (EPEC). The volunteers are now trained Parent Group Leaders, and are ready to start delivering sessions to help other parents develop their skills and give their children the best start in life.

Empowering parenting programme celebrates its first trained volunteers - Virgin Care Our Lancashire Healthy Young People and Families Service has trained a new team of volunteers who will soon be providing support to parents in Burnley, helping them to develop their skills and give their children the best start in life.

We’ve welcomed the CQC to our services more than 500 times since 2015, and we’re proud of our performance. 100% of our rated services are ‘good’ or ‘outstanding’ (above the 83% industry average), and those we’re turning around make positive progress with each inspection. Most recently, our Church Lane Surgery was rated 'good' after significant improvements were made.

Our immunisation team in Bath and North East Somerset have been working tirelessly to bring Covid-19 vaccinations to the clinically vulnerable and hard to reach communities in the area. So far they've vaccinated more than 700 people from minority groups and the housebound. We're so proud of the outstanding job they've done to provide information about testing, healthcare and the benefits of having the jab.

Our partnerships unlock sexual health service transformation for Teesside - Virgin Care How we worked with four local authorities, two Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) and NHS England to deliver sexual health services and make a difference in the Teesside community.

Our Specialist Community Public Health Nurse, Amy Clarke and Specialist Health Visitor, Marian Judd were only too happy to participate in a video to help reduce the number of babies being admitted to hospital, produced by Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust. The video highlights various community services who provide advice and guidance to families concerned about their baby’s health and could prevent an unnecessary trip to hospital. Our incredible Children's Community Nursing Team in Wiltshire are helping children like Johnathon to enjoy the same school experiences as his friends. By training the school staff to support Johnathon's complex needs, not only does Johnathon feel confident in the care he receives at school, he feels fully content in his school surroundings.

We installed a self-service height, weight and blood pressure machine in our Cheshire West and Chester Sexual Health service so that HIV and contraceptive patients could continue to be prescribed their preferred medication without increased risk of transmission during the pandemic. This pilot has helped to improve our patients’ experience and ensure their safety, whilst our doctors are able to work safely and continue to provide high-quality services. Feel the difference fund paves new ways of working in sexual health - Virgin Care Clinicians at our Cheshire West and Chester Integrated Sexual Health Service were given a Feel the Difference Grant to pilot a new way of supporting HIV and sexual health patients.

Our teams worked hard during the pandemic to increase their availability during the lockdown so that breastfeeding support was readily available for women. This included one to one support for new mums and support for colleagues working with families on complex feeding issues. Despite these changes in the delivery of our service, the breastfeeding rates in Wiltshire are continuing to rise.
