What the friggitelli? Translating restaurant menu speak for you today . Tackling the meaning of ‘modern british’ vs ‘modern Italian’, the definition of ‘pub’, what exactly is ‘flourish’ and more. What are your menu gripes or the ingredients that have caught you out?
We’ve got a summery trio of flatbreads out today in , along with our perfect toppings, so you’re all set for a flatbread party this weekend!
Widely believed to be the first form of bread ever made, they can do it all: a flatbread can be used to wrap food so you can carry it around or pick it up, it can be used as cutlery, to pick food up from a plate, or indeed as a plate to pile food on, one that absorbs all the juices and lets nothing go to waste. They’re perfect for a large summer gathering, outdoors or in, when there’s a variety of appetites to cater for and you want to keep fuss to a minimum.
The flatbreads
Flour flatbreads with herbs and garlic
Tangy yoghurt flatbreads
Split red lentil flatbreads
The toppings
Peach, feta, mint & chilli
Spicy smoked mackerel
Avocado & cucumber salad
Plus everything else we recommend serving at a flatbread party. Grab a copy of for the lowdown. Go!

Babies! So turns out today is the day our book came out 10 years ago. Did a little digging and found some of the lovely pics took at our book party. It was such a special day and so tearful to look back and see all our people together, at that point our little restaurant on Warren Street had only been open 2 years. We invited our friends and families, all the guys from the restaurant and our regulars to a party at down the road, Sarit made food from the book, we had a band come play for us and Patsy took all the pics. Everyone signed a copy of the book and drew all over it… sadly we lost it on that same day..! But we have these pics to look back at - thank you Fish! Patsy takes all the pictures for our books and column and is also one of the best things to come out of doing the book. We love Patsy.

Also big happy birthday to all our friends celebrating 10 years this summer - what a year
This summer we celebrate 10 years since the publication of our first cookbook, Honey & Co. Food from the Middle East, with the release of an anniversary edition of the book.
This book was written during the first and second year of Honey & Co. and it came out on our second anniversary.
We thought that getting to write was the best thing that could ever happen to us - its making was an act of pure joy. Seeing a real life, published book with our names on it and our food in it was better than anything we could imagine - we thought this was as good as it gets.
Then as the book made its way into kitchens and on to shelves, as people were reading it and cooking from it, we saw the dishes that we cooked day in, day out in the restaurant becoming part of people’s lives, becoming their day-to-day seasonal dishes and special occasion recipes.
We soon realised that this book had done for us what only a book can do - it expanded our world and it expanded our neighbourhood to so much more than a few side streets in north-central London.
To celebrate this special anniversary edition we’ll be serving dishes from the book on our menu throughout the summer - that means all the classics are back, including pomegranate chicken, gundi, prawn tagine, many of which have reappeared on the menu each year around this time - as well as going back through the book to share our favourite recipes and memories.
The anniversary edition is out now and signed copies are available in our restaurants and on our website, along with a very special 10th anniversary hamper.

Enjoying the new look , including the reach we reach for the most, alongside and more. We had a lot of worried messages over the weekend, but don’t worry, we are still with the magazine. After ten years of writing weekly recipes we’re are going to be doing more in depth stuff. More soon!
Adventures with an airfryer. Part 3. Out today in and this time we’re tackling cake, apple cake to be precise! Pick up a copy for our recipe and much more, from Ben Allen
