Palissades du Louvre, Paris - 1984
The London streets are buzzing! Banksy has unveiled four new works this week (so far), reminding us of the power and impact of street art. While we’re celebrating these fresh pieces, let’s not forget the trailblazer who started it all back in 1981: Blek le Rat, the ‘Father of Stencil Graffiti.’ 🐀
Banksy himself acknowledges Blek le Rat’s influence, saying, “Every time I think I’ve painted something slightly original, I find out that Blek le Rat has done it as well, only 20 years earlier.”
Kudos to Banksy for his latest creations and for always keeping the scene alive and vibrant, and hats off to Blek le Rat for paving the way.
Want to learn more about Blek le Rat or explore available works? Feel free to reach out!
On the final day of ‘War & Peace’ by Blek le Rat, we extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone for their incredible support and the amazing feedback we’ve received.

“War & Peace’ is an exploration of my fascination with and rejection of war. The creative process, much like a game of chess, begins with familiar moves but inevitably evolves into something unique and unpredictable. Every blank canvas challenges me to breathe life into it, demanding everything I have to give. Scale and format were particularly important to me in this exhibition, as they enhance the impact of my message.” Blek le Rat 🐀
Will England make it to the quarter-finals? 🐀🏴⚽👀

Happy Birthday to Richard Hambleton 👤
Today, we celebrate the life and legacy of Richard Hambleton, whose pioneering spirit and artistic vision left an indelible mark on the art world. Born in Canada in 1952, Richard made his name in New York City, captivating the city with his iconic ‘Shadow’ figures in the eighties that lingered mysteriously across the urban landscape.
Richard’s diverse creations, from ‘Shadows’ to Horse & Riders, Beautiful Paintings, Seascapes, and Blood Works, continue to inspire and influence the way we perceive street and urban art today. His work remains a testament to his boundless creativity and passion.
On what would have been your 72nd birthday, we honour your memory and the extraordinary masterpieces you’ve gifted us. Your spirit lives on through every piece, and your influence endures in the hearts of many globally.
Thank you for sharing your gift with the world, Richard. You are missed but never forgotten.
