A belated congratulations to Malcolm Bacchus on his inauguration last week at the Chartered Accountants’ Hall as the 132nd president of the ICAEW !

Malcolm was a Chair of The Chartered Accountant Student Society of London (CASSL) when he was an ICAEW student. So, this marks the first time in history that a CASSL committee member has become the ICAEW President.

Congratulations Malcolm on this huge achievement ! 🎉

We are thrilled to share the news of our latest collaboration: The Chartered Accountant Student Society of London (CASSL) is now in partnership with the Queen Mary University to support their ongoing interest in the accounting and finance sector

Leveraging on the ongoing support by PwC to offer ACA apprenticeships to students from diverse and lower socioeconomic backgrounds, CASSL volunteers and Directors, who are Chartered Accountant students at top UK companies, are dedicated to students with invaluable industry insights. We hope that CASSL can create a dynamic platform for trainees from both sides.

Many thanks to Ishani Chandrasekara Degree Programme Director for PwC Flying Start Program and Graham Hambly for bringing this collaboration to fruition. Just before we announce our next event (keep your eyes peeled, this one's a long-awaited one!), we would like to specifically thank everyone who played for the CASSL team in the Inter-firm Badminton Tournament. Our team players ranged of individuals from various firms, such as PWC, Mazars, BDO and Evelyn Partners, who generously dedicated their time and skill on a Saturday to playing for the CASSL team and playing well at that!

Of course, this event would not have been as much a success as it was without our fabulous events management team, who co-ordinated the whole tournament, and the social media management team, who brought you the live content you saw on the day!

We’ve seen how much of a success the Case Study sessions were and with the incredible support of Martin Johnson from Paradigm Shift, are now launching a series of Professional Level revision sessions! Join us next week on Monday and Tuesday for quick lunchtime masterclasses on acing the FAR and BPT exams - two of the hardest ACA papers according to students.
