Bermudair Launches 3 New Routes to the Island — See Where It's Flying From

The airline is also putting the new flights on sale.

BermudAir, a regional airline providing direct service to Bermuda, is launching several new routes. The airline will provide new, year-round service from regional airports to the island, including Charleston, SC, Hartford, CT, and Raleigh-Durham, NC. The added markets, which will begin service in April 2025, are currently on sale on the airline’s website, with introductory fares starting at $249.

“These new routes are a big win for the island, providing opportunities to experience new cultures, enjoy world-class amenities, and contribute to a thriving economy through both inbound and outbound travel,” BermudAir’s Founder and CEO Adam Scott shared in a statement to Travel + Leisure.

BermudAir currently offers service from Baltimore (BWI), Boston (BOS), Fort Lauderdale (FLL), Halifax, Nova Scotia (YHZ), New York / Westchester (HPN), Orlando (MCO), and Toronto (YYZ). The airline maintains a fleet of Embraer 175 aircraft, and says it will add two additional aircraft in 2025 to support the expanding network and new routes.

The airline offers a variety of levels of service ranging from Economy Light to Business. Economy Light only includes one personal item and is non-refundable, where Business includes carry-on and checked luggage, plus perks such as lounge access in Bermuda.

Passengers on BermudAir are provided complimentary beverages and snacks that are "sourced from carefully selected partners in Bermuda", according to the airline.

Tourism to Bermuda has been on the rise, as visitors seek to explore the resorts, hiking, and outdoor adventures. The airline recently announced that there was an 11.4 percent growth in air travelers for the first half of 2024, and that the country currently has its highest amount of direct flights.

Sicily, Malta, Sierra Leone, Bermuda, Ghana, Oman, South Africa, and The Gambia: New Winter Sun Escapes for British Travellers Seeking Warmth

As winter approaches and temperatures drop across the UK, many British travellers are looking to escape the cold and find warmth in sunnier climates. Several nearby destinations offer temperatures above 20°C without the need for long-haul flights or dealing with jet lag, making them attractive options for a quick winter getaway. From November through February, destinations like Sicily, Malta, Sierra Leone, and Ghana provide convenient and relatively affordable options for British holidaymakers, while also offering unique experiences that range from historic explorations to outdoor adventures.

Bermuda: A North Atlantic Winter Sun Destination
Bermuda is another winter sun destination, especially for those looking to avoid long-haul flights. Located seven hours from the UK, Bermuda offers an average temperature of 23°C in December. Though Bermuda can be pricier, recent data from Keydata indicates that accommodation costs have dropped by 13% compared to last year.

This small North Atlantic island has a mix of American, African, and European cultural influences, with attractions such as pink-sand beaches, UNESCO-listed St. George’s, and the historic Crystal Caves. On the South Shore, beaches like Horseshoe Bay feature limestone cliffs and unique pink sands. Crystal Caves, a network of caves with stunning stalactites and subterranean lakes, is a must-see attraction.

Bermuda Tourism Authority has renewed its long-standing partnership with the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club to support the 2024 Bermuda Gold Cup (for the King Edward VII Gold Cup) and the inaugural 2024 Aspen Bermuda Women's Match Race Regatta, both events to run from 29 October - 3 November.

This year celebrates the 72nd edition of the Bermuda Gold Cup, a founding event of the World Match Racing Tour, the world's longest running professional sailing series since 2000.

A hugely popular event with professional match racing sailors from around the world, the Bermuda Gold Cup winner's list includes some of the most prominent names in professional sailing, including America's Cup winners Russell Coutts from New Zealand (the Bermuda Gold Cup's all-time winner with seven championships) James Spithill of Australia, as well as luminaries such as Ben Ainslie (Great Britain), Taylor Canfield (USA), Chris Dickson (NewZealand), Peter Gilmour (Australia) and Ian Williams (Great Britain).

First raced as a match race regatta in 1937, the King Edward VII Gold Cup is the only King's Cup ever to be offered for competition in the United States. The trophy was first awarded by King Edward VII at the 1907 Tri-Centenary.
