Happiest 4th Birthday to my most beautiful girl inside and out. I can't believe you are 4!

Where has the time gone? I still can’t believe it’s been four years since I first held you in my arms. The minute you came into this world, it was incredibly clear that you were a beautiful force to be reckoned with. You constantly make me smile with your wacky sayings, animated facial expressions, zest for life and boundless energy, your incredible vitality and thirst for learning and do-ing. I never thought it would be possible to be as proud of, and to love a being from the bottom of my heart as much as I do with you. I am so very grateful to have watched you blossom into such a loving, intelligent, strong, determined, empathetic, feisty, funny little girl.

This year my birthday wish for you, my love, is that you’re forever able to acknowledge how special you are. I hope you always feel confident enough to be you! That you never stop owning your power and that you keep dancing to the rhythm of your own beat. And I promise always to keep reminding you if you ever forget.

Thank you a million times over for picking me to be your mama! Life just wouldn’t be as bright if it weren’t for you.

He sat up all nite learning to model the balloons into little dogs just for our little girl. We incorporated the bits that Renée loves to draw. We thought it would be a nice gesture. We had so much fun putting it all together! 😊

I made this cake for my daughter Renée on her 3rd birthday last year. I was uncomfortable posting this as I felt it wasn't one of my best works. My health had suffered and I was discharged from the hospital a few days before her Birthday. Renée wanted her cake to have a 3D Simba cake topper. I tried my best to stick to the original design but, I was still weak and was afraid I would not complete the cake in time. So, I had to improvise. I felt disappointed that it was not something Renée wanted. I know she's only 3, but it was the first time my girl described how she wanted her cake to look like. I felt like I had let her down and did not feel proud of posting it.
Today, while Renée was swiping through the pictures on my phone she came across these and said " It's my cake! It was 'beeediful'. Thank you mummy for making it. You are amazing!" and then gave me a tight hug and a kiss. I was overwhelmed by the appreciation and the outpouring of love I received from my little human! To her, it didn't matter if the cake turned out the way she wanted it or not... She was very happy and proud that I made it for her! She was so grateful!
Now, when I look at the pictures from her 3rd birthday, I know I did good in the given circumstances. I know I made my daughter very happy on her special day. Above all, I am grateful for being able to be there to celebrate her turning 3. Grateful for the memories and for every moment we cherished together as a family.

My WONDEROUS DAUGHTER RENÉE... I LOVE YOU! Thank you for showing me that when we see someone or something as imperfect, it is a reflection of our limitations, not theirs.

Happy birthday My Heart! You’ve been with us for two years now, and it seems like I just had you yesterday AND we’ve been together forever simultaneously. I can’t imagine our little family without you. I cannot believe that you are two already! Two years of hugs, nappies, kisses, frustrations and love, lots and lots of love. Two years as a mom!

It feels like you were always a part of our lives. And maybe that’s true. Maybe a piece of my heart has always belonged to you, even before you were born–it just wasn’t until I met you that I knew who that piece belonged to. I am so glad that my heart belongs to you. You bring so much light, laughter, and love to our family, and I still can’t believe that you’re mine. 

You are honestly the most beautiful soul, the kindest person and the fiercest spirit I have ever encountered.
Thinking back on how far you’ve come in two short years, I can’t help but be amazed. I am so proud of the person you are becoming. ❤

Every night I stay up looking through your baby photos because OMG you’re growing up too fast!!! I wish time would slow down a little. It doesn't matter how much time I spend with you, it's never enough. Being your mommy is the greatest accomplishment of my life! I love you with all my heart and more. I can't wait to see what the future holds for you.
