Queen’s Square, a creation by the brilliant mind, of John Wood. The north side is a puzzle of seven houses coming together in a grand palace style.
At the heart of it all stands the obelisk, placed by Beau Nash in 1735. It once had a needlepoint until it was damaged by a gale which truncated it in 1815. The obelisk has a plaque with an interesting history, originally inscribed in 1738, thanking Frederick Prince of Wales and his consort for their kindness to Bath.

The theme of Bath 😍
Influenced by Entrepreneur Ralph Allen, who promoted what's famously called Bath Stone. Formally known as Oolitic limestone, this resource and building material was readily available to Bath during the 18th century.
In the Georgian era, the stone's colour reflected a lavish appearance, while the intricate designs reflected the elegance of those wealthy in society.

Abbey Road Studios!
Established in 1931, it witnessed the birth of many musical masterpieces. Most known, to the world - The Beatles.
Their iconic zebra crossing walk, immortalized on the cover of their 1969 album “Abbey Road,” is an image forever etched in the minds of music fans worldwide. But Abbey Road’s significance goes beyond The Fab Four. From the soulful sounds of Pink Floyd’s “Dark Side of the Moon” to the anthemic melodies of Radiohead’s “The Bends,” and more!

The Great Cloister offers a sober and peaceful walk.
Surrounding the garden is the overhead roofed walkway. The largest in England. Monks would use the area daily to pray, meditate and for service.
As you stroll the walkway, you'll appreciate the Gothic style, coats of arms and the quiet atmosphere. The coats of arms represent families, religious institutions and royalty, highlighting the history of the Middle Ages.

Standing 30 metres tall, with a span of 160 metres - Silbury Hill required 4 million hours of gruelling work and perhaps, a serious sense of prehistoric elbow grease! Built in the 19th Century, the Georgian crescents in Bath are a real treat to those who like to capture architectural design in person! In total, there are 7 Crescents in Bath. The one in the image is of "The Circus" which is a relatively short walk from the very main centre of Bath.
The gold-stained colours of these buildings and others in Bath are called "Bath Stone", an Oolitic Limestone. The Crescent to see, behold, and take in as Summer skies appear more, is the "Royal Crescents".

Walk the grand staircase at Osborne House and be wowed by a giant painting! This fancy curved staircase with iron railings leads right up to it.
High above the stairs, a huge picture by William Dyce tells a story. Called "Neptune Gives Britain the Seas," it shows the Roman sea god handing his power to Britain.
Prince Albert, Queen Victoria's husband, wanted this painting here. It shows both cool Victorian art and how proud Britain was of its navy back then.

Behind this door is music history!
The Beatles’ last show, on top of Apple Corps. The 30th of January, 1969, was the filming date of “The Get Back Project” with the plan of rehearsing and recording new songs.
The usual studio setting seemed a little less exciting, leading to the producer suggesting the roof as their performance venue. Directly above the Apple Corps headquarters at 3 Savile Row, in the West End.
Their set would go on for 42 minutes and be attended by local workers on their lunch breaks. From the rooftops surrounding the concert, they watched. From the streets below, they gathered and enjoyed the free and impromptu concert. This would later be cut short by a few good warnings from the local police.

Did you know?
Recent studies have revealed that Stonehenge has unusual acoustic properties. Some researchers believe that the stones were deliberately placed to create a sound chamber, which could amplify voices or musical instruments. This has led to speculation that the site might have been used for rituals involving sound, although this theory is still under investigation.
