I’ve signed my FIRST ever publishing deal with the incredible & I’m looking forward to working on EXCITING projects with them.

I’ve been a DIY self- releasing artist/composer for 17 YEARS, so this is the start of a very exciting NEW CHAPTER.

I’ve dealt with being punched down, discriminated against & all kinds of obstacles thrown at me. More importantly, I’ve worked with incredible artists, musicians, bands, orchestras, choirs, across the music, art, fashion and tech worlds. I started as a teenage club kid DJ and a session musician, now composing for film, TV, VR & AI.

I didn’t conform to any pre-existing industry boxes & came up at a time before conversations around race, gender or queerness were mainstream conversations.

I’ve created my own path against a number of odds. I write all this to encourage anyone on this path & particularly shout out to all the brown, black & freaky POC femmes at the back of the room.

Thanks for capturing a really special moment.

‘Blooming Thoughts’ is the new release from Aukai.

Written during Spring 2020, the single sees Aukai exploring new tonal palettes by using an upright piano, Prophet 08 and a fender bass guitar with Fender Rhodes and “moody drum vibes”.

The Emilie Levienaise-Farrouch scored ‘The Assessment’ is screening today at theBFI London Film Festival.

Acclaimed music video director Fleur Fortuné’s feature debut is a taut sci-fi chamber piece featuring striking performances by Elizabeth Olsen, Himesh Patel and Alicia Vikander.

The Matthew Herbert scored ‘April’ is screening today in Official Competition at the BFI London Film Festival.

Directed by renowned Georgian director Dea Kulumbegashvili, the film is a probing exploration of rural life in Georgia centering on the experiences of a doctor whose moral compass is as unwavering as her strength of character.

The Oli Julian scored ‘Alma’s Not Normal’ is now streaming on BBC iPlayer.

Created, written by, starring and Executive Produced by Sophie Willan, the 6-part series centres on Boltonian wild-child, Alma Nuthall and her family of eccentric, unruly women and was the creation of Sophie in 2018 when she was the inaugural winner of the BBC’s Caroline Aherne Bursary Award.

Max Cooper announces his new album ‘On Being’ with the release of the single 'True Under Certain Conditions'.

Over the course of two, Max Cooper has been collecting hundreds of anonymous quotes through his website by posing deep but open questions to try to understand what it is truly like to be human right now.

The result is ‘On Being’, a unique work of art that demonstrates unequivocally not only the power of using music without words to express emotions, but the power of words to express what seemed to be inexpressible.

"I was interested in the way I interact with people for my writing process, which usually involves a one-way communication of feelings and ideas that I later find out whether they resonate with others or not," says Cooper.

"With this I could start instead with people's thoughts and feelings, what resonates for them, and make my own interpretations of those musically and visually, and then send those back out to everyone. It's more of a collaborative approach to making an album, and more intense.
The quotes carried so much weight for me - I interpreted them with my usual musical tools, but as you can hear in the music, everything got more extreme as I dove into the depths of what everyone had to say later in the record”

‘On Being’ is due for release in February via Meshmeshmesh

The new single from Kate Simko and London Electronic Orchestra is out today.

‘Masquerade’ is an intimate, atmospheric work written for harp and strings and contrasts with the ensemble’s signature beat driven sound.

Kate describes the track as:

“a modern day waltz with an electronic twist. The song is about the masks we wear - from social media to our personas - and letting go and being confident with our genuine selves.
I used close recordings of the upright bass and other pizzicato strings to capture the intimate timbres of the instruments. When the music goes wild with delays and layers swirling, we’re deep inside the sound world when the strings become loose and out of control. The mask is off and we’re on a feverish orchestral journey spiralling off the grid.”

The release is paired with a stunning video featuring dancers from The Royal Ballet shot at Broadwick Live’s industrial venue, The Beams.
“The whole team worked together to find an aesthetic that reflected the feeling of the music. We went with a raw look at the shoot - simple bare costumes alongside close up recordings of the natural strings. The video reflects everything in the song - vulnerable and exposed - passion, losing control, and letting go.”

The Simon Russell scored ‘Bombing Brighton: The Plot To Kill Thatcher’ premieres tonight at 9pm on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer.

40 years since the IRA’s plot to kill Margaret Thatcher, the documentary from KEO Films features testimony from those affected by the bomb and an interview with Patrick Magee who received eight life sentences for his role in planting the Brighton bomb.

Zebedee C Budworth is a composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist known for crafting powerful compositions for film and advertising. His work has been featured in award-winning campaigns for global brands like Sainsbury’s, Starbucks, and McDonald’s. In 2022, he scored the critically acclaimed music documentary ‘Meet Me In The Bathroom’, which explores the early 2000s New York music scene and premiered at the Sundance and BFI Film Festivals.

Beyond film, Zebedee is the founding director of the Emergence Collective, a 30-member ensemble fusing folk, improvisation, and minimalism. His music has also been featured on BBC Radio 6 Music, BBC Radio 1 and NTS, and has appeared on TV shows such as S*x Education and Made In Chelsea.
