Who’s up for some country and western music this Sunday? It’s time for Come Down And Meet The Folks!
This months headliners are Major A & The Magic Mile - they play a mix of classic country, western swing, and trucking songs, with a 70’s vibe, including songs by artists such as Hank Williams, Merle Haggard, Ray Price, Gram Parsons, Asleep At The Wheel and Commander Cody and His Lost Planet Airmen.
Solo acoustic support comes from Matthew Aylett, and there is room for a couple of floor spots, so just ask if you fancy playing a couple of songs.
Hosted by Alan Tyler and Patrick Ralla from The Rockingbirds.

THE GREEN RAY + THE OTHYRS + SIMON BROMIDE BAND
Tonight! Last few tickets available!
25th October 2024

Clerkenville East-West returns to rock out the basement of the wonderful Betsey Trotwood pub with a triple bill of acid guitar goodness and crunchy pop. Just £8 in advance or £10 on the door.
With roots in much-loved 70s band Help Yourself, THE GREEN RAY have survived the tragic passing of four members to build a reputation as one of the UK’s preeminent psychedelic rock bands, their guitar explorations recalling the Haight-Ashbury greats, and taking in elements of country rock and improvisational blues and jazz.

THE OTHYRS, featuring guitarist Andy Golding of acclaimed indie/ C86 rockers The Wolfhounds and assorted family members, are possibly the most exciting musical dynasty since the Osmonds put out Crazy Horses! A compelling mix of Andy’s post-punk roots, VU and Krautrock grooves.

The SIMON BROMIDE BAND are the vehicle for south London tour de force Simon’s solo output (the man behind Scratchy Records, he also plays and records with indie rockers Bromide...confused, you will be). Simon will be playing songs from his much lauded LP ‘Following The Moon’. Vive Le Rock - 9/10 - “The ghosts of Johnny Marr, Peter Perrett and XTC joust with psychedelic sounds and neo-folk”.
