We don’t skip corners when servicing, here is an Audi RS6 which was in for a major service and gearbox service. Changing the oil isn’t enough on these ZF gearboxes, there are two filters which need to be replaced just for the gearbox alone.

There is a filter inside the gearbox and a filter on the outside, so for both of these filters to be replaced the gearbox sump has to be removed!

Whilst here, you can truly see the internals of the box and it’s fascinating to see the engineering which goes into the gearboxes 👌

Once filters are replaced, the sump can be resealed with new gaskets and fresh oil can be inserted.

So we don’t just specialise in tuning or performance upgrades, we actually do the all maintenance work you need also… yes EVEN the ones that all garages dread, like this Mini Cooper S clutch here 😂

This is a big job, the only thing that would be left to remove if we wanted to take the engine out would be; the fuel lines and a couple of coolant hoses 😬

New flywheel and clutch fitted, and an unknown water leak was also found 🙏✌️

The infamous Yaris GR (the most powerful 3 cylinder engine ever made) is in the workshop today being treated to an intake and big boost pipe kit 🤯

Why it is important to check your brake pads and stick to service schedules!

This GLE came in for some brake pads but was extremely close to needing discs too. If your brake pads wear down past the material, the metal part of the pad will start binding against the disc.. this will totally ruin the disc and will result in the discs having to be replaced.

Thankfully this customer narrowly (and we mean narrowly!) avoided having to purchase two new front discs, saving themselves an extra £300+ from their bill 😬😮‍💨

Check your pads! On most cars you can actually see the pad through the wheel, and you can clearly see a difference between the brake pad material and the metal part of the pad, make sure you have plenty of brake pad material 👌

Today we had Sydney in with his beautiful, recently purchased M140i.

Just a brake pad change today but he was considering options to make the most out of that B58, so maybe we’ll see him again soon for some more power 👀

Today we had a 2.3 ecoboost Mustang in for some mapping, we’ve had plenty of the 5.0’s but we I believe this was one of our first 2.3’s so was interested in what kind of numbers we could make.

Numbers were a bit low on the stock base run, but the car is ran on 95 octane fuel, this combined with the high ambient temperature would make it difficult to hit the BHP figures quoted by Ford.

Nonetheless, we managed to squeeze out an extra 34 BHP from the base figures, with just the implementation of a map.

We had this Golf R in today for a common issue, the filters in the haldex get clogged up and this restricts oil flow in the haldex which controls your AWD, ultimately this could lead to more severe issues down the line, so this filter should either be cleaned or replaced during services.

It’s sad to know that many respectable garages don’t include this filter inspection in any of their service packages, luckily here at Amd…. we do!

In fact not only do we just offer this service, we actually provide further solutions to help this problem. We can supply and fit the magnetic fill/drain plugs, these will collect any magnetic debris in the oil and stop them from gathering on the filter.

The Golf actually had some more goodies fitted on the car whilst it was here, this consisted of an underbody brace which improves rigidity of the chassis and a metal oil filter housing as the plastic OEM ones are known for cracking!

We had an extra special car in the unit today, an Audi R8 GT V10. This is one of 333 ever made, which sounds impressive right? Well it’s even more impressive when only 35 of these were made for the UK.

So we were very grateful to be given the choice to work on this, the customer wanted a major service and a gearbox service.

These cars were a faster, lighter (and definitely more expensive) version of the V10 R8 introduced in 2008, coming with bucket seats, a half roll cage and even synthetic shark skin hide interior from factory (along with a huge list of extra’s).

Nice to see pieces of automotive history come and leave the workshop 🙏

We have a long history of racing in the BTCC, so motorsport is in our blood.

So we absolutely love tackling jobs like this, we were the final visit for this M4 before its Nurburgring trip and we were asking to finalise the suspension and the setup.

So we fitted some , fitted some adjustable rear toe arms and finished off with a complete corner weight, alignment and geo set up ✌️

The second RS3 of the day, but this time in for some preventive maintenance; a full service plus haldex and dsg service.

A full service consists of a new oil filter, oil change, air filter, spark plugs and cabin filter but it’s always good to go the extra mile and service the DSG and also the Haldex, which are often overlooked.

It is very important to not only change the haldex oil, but to also clean or if necessary, replace the filter. The haldex controls the clutches in the rear wheel drive by the use of oil pressure, the clogging up of the filter or wear of the oil may effect this oil pressure, thus causing potential problems of the all wheel drive system.

The beautiful RS3 had a selection of tasty goodies fitted this time 😎

Firstly we fitted the fully forged mono block brake kit which consists of 6 pot calipers and 380mm triple grooved floating two piece discs, and if that wasn’t enough stopping power, stage 3 floating discs were also fitted to the rear 😬

An intercooler was fitted to decrease the intake temps and then some 20mm lowering springs were fitted to just finish off the look of the car!

This lovely example was in for a timing belt and a service, luckily we got here just in time as you see a bracket had came loose and was eating itself through the timing belt, this would have eventually become catastrophic 😬

We are seeing an influx of these Emira’s coming through the door recently, in fact this is the second one this week!

This car has a supercharged 3.5 V6 and it’s refreshing to see car manufacturers still holding onto the driving spirit and enthusiasm.

We see HUGE potential with this car so we are getting one in ourselves to develop some new products. 🤫

Firstly we are taking it to to manufacture a bunch of cooling upgrades, shortly after it will be going to to build a wide array of styling parts, will be down here at the unit next week to 3D scan the vehicle to make some upgraded brake solutions and to finish off we will be taking control of the audio and stereo system, although these cars came with a huge focus on the driving soul, unfortunately the speakers and sound quality are lacking for a 2022 car..

Time Attack Championship prep is well under way now for the next event at Brands Hatch in a couple of weeks time.
