I’m a medical practitioner and I do NOT offer fat dissolving injections.

There isn’t a fat dissolving product on the market that I would feel confident and comfortable using on my patients!

My priority has and always will be patient safety. If the product isn’t of a pharmaceutical grade and doesn’t come with extensive medical research/clinical data, I’m not using it!

Please do your research and always consult a trusted medical practitioner/specialist before opting for any ‘aesthetic’ treatment which involves injecting a substance into your body!!

I know this gets boring but I see more and more people advertising fat dissolving injections! 🤦‍♀️

When someone says they’re ‘qualified’ in fat dissolving, please ask to see said ‘qualifications’.

A qualification is a government recognised training or a medical degree not a quick in-house/on-line CPD, or accredited course. A beauty or aesthetics certificate may have a fancy looking logo on it but unless you can see ‘OFQUAL’ on it, it’s NOT a qualification!

Fat dissolving is not taught on regular beauty therapy courses but there are unscrupulous brands & academies happy to train Level 3 Beauty Therapists or anyone with 6 months experience in needling or injectables (as mentioned above, the aesthetics industry is not regulated- ANYONE can do a quick course in needling or injectables! 🤦‍♀️)

When the aesthetics industry is finally regulated (🥱)this treatment is anticipated to only be available from Medics or Level 7 aesthetic practitioners who are overseen by a doctor. This is because there can be serious repercussions and the JCCP are pushing for this treatment to only be carried out by medical clinicians.

Level 3 Beauty Therapy is NOT clinical, only at L4/5 aesthetic practise does it start to get ‘clinical’ and the level of anatomy & physiology & skin science at L3 is not (imo) enough!
I hold a full L4 in Aesthetic Practise & L5 in Clinical Skin Science, do I offer fat dissolving? No, along with other injectables, it’s not in my remit!

Many of you are probably thinking ‘well what’s the harm in dissolving the fat on my thighs, what can go wrong?’

The FDA reports scars, infections, cysts & deformities!
And these injections are also carried out on double chins! 🤦‍♀️

Could I do the training if I wanted to? Of course! I could even do it online (see pic below) & so could you dear reader for just £45!! 🤦‍♀️
Could I sleep at night? no way!

Pleeeeease research the product used too because there are brands on the market that have been banned in many parts of the world but are still available in the UK!🤦‍♀️

‘You don’t know what you don’t know’ is my favourite saying, cause there’s lots out there who have been conned into THINKING they’re qualified because they have a piece of paper in a frame which sadly is no more than a ‘certificate of attendance’ & an insurance policy which is not worth the paper it’s written on!

If a claim is made, the underwriter will ask to see evidence of formal qualifications and if the practitioner doesn’t have any, their insurance is null & void!

Just be wise & don’t be afraid to interrogate the practitioner before you are lying on a treatment couch having fat dissolver injected into your body! 😘

Juvederm Voluma is used in very small amounts to define, shape and contour the nose area. Adding light amounts to the nasal bridge can disguise bumps and straighten the nose. Voluma can also be added to the nasal tip to add contour and fill small indents.
