📣Game Season is ON📣
At The Cinnamon Club, we take pride in our passion for game cooking, a tradition deeply rooted in the Indian subcontinent, though hunting has been prohibited in India since 1972.
As pioneers in incorporating game into Indian cuisine, we're particularly excited to feature grouse, a quintessentially British and ultra-seasonal ingredient, on our menu. The first young birds of the season are especially prized for their sweet, succulent and delicate flavour.
This September, our Rajasthani Spiced Tandoori Grouse, paired with yellow 5 lentil tadka, cumin and garlic- a true delicacy, is up there with the favourites.

This is n̶o̶t̶ Saag Gosht.
Throughout our 23+ years of cooking in the industry, it has been our endeavour to celebrate age-old Indian cooking techniques and combining them with the very best local seasonal produce.
In this case, the finest British Lamb in its season.
The cut in question here is a de-boned loin of lamb that has been marinated in exactly the way we would marinate something in India and has been cooked in a Tandoori oven that is as primitive as it ever been in its 1000+ years of existence.
Our challenge is to find a way to celebrate the spicing.. and flavour.. and smokiness, cooking it in Tandoor but also retaining the respect for this wonderful cut of meat that we have access to.
It's taken us years of practice to be able to judge the cooking just right, so that the meat has all the flavour and spicing and yet is rested and is served pink and juicy as it should be.
Playing the side-role on this dish is a nutmeg and garlic flavoured spinach sauce and kadhai-style stir-fried baby corn and pepper, all coming together to create our interpretation of a Saag Gosht.

Here is an image of a roasted saddle of venison which has been marinated with Rajasthani spices and cooked in a Tandoor, then allowed to rest and then served with a masala masg and roasted pickled vegetables.
This is... and has been one of our most loved game dishes.
