A great couple who worked tirelessly to protect the hobby. Reunited.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of SUE AUSTIN, who, along with husband Trevor, was one of the founder members of the NCMD.
For many years, Trevor served as General Secretary of the NCMD and Sue supported him as Assistant General Secretary.
They campaigned tirelessly against moves made to control and restrict metal detecting in the UK and it is without doubt that we all owe Sue and Trevor a huge debt, because the freedoms we enjoy as detectorists today are down to their hard work and fortitude over many years.
They were both a massive presence in the hobby and both were sadly taken far too soon.
We offer our sincere condolences to Amanda, David, Jenny and their children.
A local find causing much debate......... sometimes the finders can provide more evidence than the experts. Why does the establishment look down on us?
