Lastly I've had a few people asking about funeral pot flowers last don't fade. These would be UV stable flowers and I am getting some in to make up these tributes. If you would like one please let me know so I can order enough. They will be ÂĢ15 including a plain pot. UV flowers usually last a year without fading in direct sun.
See you all soon ð
When you make a little house for Charlotte and she actually uses it!!!! ððð
Today we went to St Ives which was busy busy, but gorgeous. We also stopped at St Michael's Mount, walked along the road to the island only to find you now have to pay to visit it. So a bit of a wasted trip except for finding THIS on the beach.....it's a ððððð face. Isn't nature just so wonderful!
Shhhhhhh.......
Glad we didn't come on hols for the weather ðĪŠðĢ
Opposite the hotel is the Queen Mary Garden. It's lovely and has the biggest Gunnera Grouping I've ever seen. Huge leaves in abundance all within a large pond. It beautiful. Also some rather enormous date palms ð
I love you lots, but I'm afraid I'm not going to miss you this week. Not with this view ð
I am closing early today at 3pm sharp as I have a hsp appt. Apologies for any inconvenience. And don't forget that I am closed from tomorrow right through to 28th August ð
The gorgeous Rudbeckia Juligold is finally showing. Super tall, bright yellow flowers with an unusual green centre are perfect for the back of a border or for prairie planting. Mix with tall swooshing grasses and verbena for a calm feel or mix with other Rudbeckia and echinachia for a burst of colour. Lush. ðð. Good for the bees too. Win win.
There is a family of pigeons living at the shop and enjoying the water form the pond plants. It's so important to leave water for wildlife, especially in this heat. Somewhere shady so it doesn't evaporate quickly, keep it clean and refreshed regularly. ð
Chocy wocky cupcakes and a view on this glorious day. Nothing better. The curtains are down on the Ibiza tent and they are billowing. It's proper lush ðð
Open until 4pm ððð
Salted caramel cupcakes are ready!

It's happening!!! The African Star of Bethlehem (giant SOB) is finally starting to flower and I can't wait to see it in full bloom. Many of you have asked if it's for sale. It's not. Not ATM. But come autumn I will be splitting it so keep your eyes peeled in spring!
It's also bake day today so I will be making salted caramel muffins with vanilla topping. Yum. ðð

August can mean leggy plants, spent flower heads and brown leaves. now is a good time to tidy up to help plants bloom longer. in this video I run through how to give your plants the spa treatment.

This beautiful Clematis Alp. 'Albina Plena' is just flowering even though it should have been out in April!!! The weather has really confused lots of plants this year ð. A climber to 3m and happy on partial shade, the white flowers will brighten a darker area of the garden and pop at night, especially if lit from underneath. Gorgeous ðĪĐ
Cakes being baked today now I have the right equipment ð
No cakes today then....oops ðŽðĪĶðĪĶðĪĶðĪĶ. Scones though!
It's going to be hot today and bake day is here. So if you want a scone or cake get on down here. Ready late morning ...nom nom nom
That's one terrarium done. I just love these vintage bonbon jars. They make such beautiful terrariums. ð
I'm thinking of running a terrarium workshop. Would anyone be interested?? Probably in the late afternoon on a weekday. Let me know on the comments ð
This little display is now done. It's made from a pallet, scrap metal objects, butler sink and old terracotta pots. I try to create displays to give you ideas and this one is to show that a beautiful plant area can be created from junk, and that you don't need a huge space to reate something beautiful, or in fact have lots of spare cash.
Old metal lamps have been used as mini greenhouses for succulents. A solar pump is in the old butler sink which was free, and creates a water haven for wildlife. An old trough is alscrewed to the pallet to house hanging plants. Old metal baths host plants....anything is possible with a little imagination!
We are open today until 4pm
Well that's the week done and thanks to everyone that visited and purchased. As a reminder it's the last Sunday of the month so I am closed for family time. Open again on Monday at 9.30am.
For those that haven't been before I thought a quick video of the garden plants would be good ð
Have a great Sunday everyone âĪïļ
