Yesterday, 10 of the Lymington Bowling Club members that were part of the the Totton & Ealing Shield winning team, proudly collected their trophy at the NFBA awards ceremony. David Stokes, the club's New Forest captain collected the trophy.

Congratulations to the men's New Forest team that yesterday won the inaugural Totton & Eling Shield, beating New Milton by 34 points in sweltering heat! Well done everybody!

Who doesn’t love a bit of trivia and to test their knowledge on a few light hearted topics. We’ve got a quiz night planned on the evening of the 24th March for all members. Be there for 6.30pm latest for hot food and a great evening of socialising and enjoyment. SEE YOU THEN ….. 🍷🍻🍴🍽️🧐

It’s nearly time to get back on the green, however until we can, we’ve got a full programme of events for all our members. Join us on the afternoon of the 22nd for a flower arranging demonstration and light refreshments 🫖🍰💐

Recognition for the use of our clubhouse during these tough times

With so many of our members living in the area, we are delighted to be able to tell you about the Club’s year. We were unable to start our outdoor bowling season in April because of the Covid lockdown. Coincidentally an urgent call was received from NHS Southern Health to ask if they could use our spacious Clubhouse to run emergency training courses for their staff. Of course, we were delighted to oblige at such a critical time. We finally started our outdoor season in early June, working to the Government’s strict Covid regulations. Ever since, more and more of our members have enjoyed being out once again, playing great bowls in a safe environment. Whenever possible we have further improved the Club’s facilities. Members can now use their credit and debit cards to pay contactless for bar purchases and subscriptions, with the added bonus of broadband providing good telephone and internet connection. On the skip went our old kitchen, replaced with a sparkling new one, and we purchased a special ramp for the green, making access far easier for infirm members. Plans are now in place, when Covid safe to do so, to start short mat bowling in our Clubhouse during the outdoor closed season.
Our members are now looking forward to next year when the Club will celebrate its Centenary. We are located in the centre of Lymington, adjacent to the fire station, behind the town’s football club, with a free car park.
