Summer time is a great time to explore and learn new skills. It is also a wonderful time to practice the skills you already have. For me it is time to draw portraits, I’m experimenting with self portraits too. Has anyone got something you would like to share?

We had a lovely morning with everyone there to celebrate the installation of the inclusive roundabout, thank you.

Some days you just have to paint. This week I have been inspired by my students, funny how we do it together, each encouraging the other. Keep practicing everyone. Draw whatever you see. Look closely.

Please be aware that our Toddler Play Area will be closed on Thursday 20th and Friday 21st this week, as we have a new piece of play equipment being installed.

Rose's Roundabout is an inclusive roundabout suitable for wheelchair users, which is being kindly donated to Park View Playing Fields by the lovely Thompson family from The Tractor Shed - Art Nature Wellness

Thanks also to Fylde Council for helping to cover some of the installation costs. We will announce when we can safely reopen the play area and look forward to many families coming to have fun on this essential piece of play equipment.

How lucky am I to be doing a collaboration with well known local Artist and sculptress , Nicola Thompson, taking place in her beautiful gardens and ancient woodlands.

The day will include Forrest bathing. Meditations and shamanic drumming. Please note drums are provided (no experience necessary, as everyone can beat a drum).

Meditation and art. Nicola’s passion is to help everyone find their inner creative being. Janet will gently play the crystal singing bowls and drum in the background, further helping your creativity to emerge.

We have persuaded the lovely Yvette Haines, to read cards for you all throughout the day.

Enjoy quiet time exploring the gardens, walking round the labyrinth and the beautiful circle of Ogham trees.

You are all welcome to wild swim in the pond surrounded by nature, or just spend time sitting and reflect.

Nicola and Janet dearly want this retreat to help you find a deeper connection to the land.

Be soothed by Mother Nature and connect back to you, finding peace within.

SKETCHING IN THE GARDEN
Enjoy being out in nature come along and join our group of enthusiasts. In the woodlands there are walks and quiet places, sit beside the pond explore the plant and insect life. Wherever we are garden, studio or greenhouse we are working with the seasons capturing the beauty of it all. Lovely evening light or the morning as the sun rises, drawing materials are available or bring your own sketchbook and pencils too.
Remember everyone can draw it’s just a matter of turning up.

SPRING has arrived, the garden is bright and eager to show us a whole host of treasures. Come and explore ways of sketching in the woodland garden, around the pond, in the vegetable garden, along side the rill and in the woodlands.
Creativity and imagination, absorbing our busy minds is a gentle relief and the power of intention to learn something new and stick at it can be very powerful when working in nature.
We will record what we see with warm up sketches and finished drawings. There is guidance for beginners and drawing by yourself if experienced.
The Tractor Shed Studio is our base for each session, a warm place to examine plants and wildlife more closely and experiment with lighting and composition.
Wear warm clothes and good shoes or boots, it can be muddy.
There are benches and rocks or bring a camping chair to sit on if you prefer.
MATERIALS
Sketchbook pencils erase. We do have some to borrow.
We have drawing boards.
Bring a blanket and cushion if you would like to join a short meditation.
REFRESHMENTS
Herbal teas from the garden.

"If you see me in your garden, give me food and water.
Raw unsalted meat, ground meat, I also eat cat nuggets or canned meat but not with fish. Don’t give me milk cause it gives me stomach issues and I will die of dehydration. I'm naive and as soon as I see milk I drink it!
Don't throw pesticides, don't set traps... I’m definitely a danger to myself.
In the garden I help you, because I feed on all the insects and insects, that attack your vegetables.
If you see me on the street, don't run and kill me.
Help me cross the road safely and find a field or den.
My species is disappearing.
Help me to survive.......

Anyone free to join us drawing in the garden on Monday morning 9.30am-11.30 (and studio if raining). I’ve found us some coloured paper to draw the seed heads and thought to add some colour with pencils too. I’m in the Lakes this week and I’ve been sketching, it’s still warm enough to sit for a while. Seeing the vibrant autumn colours was too good to miss.

Drawing Classes: It is time to book your classes, choose Monday mornings or Tuesday evenings. Day time classes will be held in the gardens and the evening classes will be held in the Tractor Shed.
