This adjustment will allow us to further focus on quality, introduce more house-made bakes and provide the team with a greater work-life balance. As you may have noticed, we’re also extending our weekend service by an hour both days to provide you with additional slurpage time.
We feel incredibly grateful to be confident in this decision and can’t thank you enough for all the support over the last 10 months.
Looking ahead, we have lots of exciting happenings planned in the near future that we can’t wait to share with you.

For the next few weeks we’ll be brewing Kibingo from as our primary Espresso.
Named after the Kibingo washing station situated in the Kayanza region of northern Burundi, this washed process Red Bourbon particularly stood out to us on the cupping table. Expect lots of lovely blackcurrant sweetness balanced out by soft green apple acidity served black, then an additional smooth caramel finish when paired with milk.
We look forward to sharing this delicious coffee with you over the coming weeks.
As we enter the summer months we’re making a few changes to our coffee offering. Starting this week, we’re moving away from a dedicated ‘house’ Espresso and instead, highlighting seasonal lots from our favourite roasters.
First up, we’re brewing ‘Substance’ from our good friends at for the next week or so. This is a naturally processed community lot from Las Etíopes farm, situated in the village of El Porvenir in Jaén, Cajamarca, Peru. Consisting of Caturra and Bourbon varieties, expect a rich and jammy Espresso packed full of forest fruit notes, black cherries and dark chocolate.
We’re excited to hear your thoughts and look forward to showcasing a wide range of delicious coffees over the coming months.
Much love, team Cornershop. ✌️

We’ve just surpassed 6 months of trading, so thought it time to celebrate the people that support us each week in our goal to serve up coffee from the best roasters around, whilst building a strong, thriving community through a neighbourhood coffee shop.
First up we have Neil Forshaw, aka ‘the nicest man in Macclesfield’, aka ‘Boujee Boy’. If you’ve been to Cornershop, you’ve probably had a lovely natter with Neil. Always a smile on his face and time to talk, Neil shares stories of regular holidays and work trips abroad, bringing back food based (some times inedible) treats. The latest being boozy chocolate from Poland which gained mixed reviews when shared around.
Like many of our regulars, Neil’s a creature of habit, his ‘usual’ being an Americano with semi-skimmed milk on the side.
We’re extremely grateful to have the support from customers like Neil and look forward to sharing more stories in the coming months.
Thank you to those who came to our first event on Friday, we enjoyed sharing some amazing coffees with you.
Special mention to Josh and Oli from for guiding us through the evening, sharing their passion and knowledge along the way.
We look forward to announcing more exciting events in the coming weeks.
Much love, team Cornershop.

Cornershop x Pen Y Bont
Lots of you have shown interest in our cups, so from next week a limited number will be available to buy at the shop.
They are hand thrown on the potter’s wheel by Emma at Macclesfield based .y.bont_ceramics using local Staffordshire clay.
Once the cups are leather hard, their bases are trimmed and stamped. They are then wrapped up and dried slowly to prevent cracks forming. When the cups are completely dry, they are bisque fired in the kiln at 1000 °C, then dipped in a glaze for 2-3 seconds before returning to the kiln for their final glaze firing at 1230 °C.
Emma’s skill and dedication to her craft is truly impressive, with countless hours of testing going into the final designs. We hope you enjoy using them as much as we do.
Much love, team Cornershop.

Our current house Espresso is Las Laderas, a honey process bourbon variety produced by Fernado Lima in the Aspaneca-llamatapec region of El Salvador.
We taste ripe fruit with a soft, round acidity when served black, then plum and dark chocolate paired with milk.
Our house Espresso will change throughout the year to align with growing/harvesting seasons around the world.
