Ref Hand Sanitiser

As we all know the last 10 to 12 weeks has been a difficult time for most of us. And when the lock down came in, panic stations set in not knowing what was happening with Coronavirus. The demand was high for certain things and one of the most in demand was hand sanitiser. Thankfully due to good relations with my suppliers, I was fit to supply this product when little or nobody else could get their hands on it, due to the demand on raw materials to manufacture it.
For example one raw material went from £1.50 per litre to £16.50 per litre.

The price of raw materials was extortionate and I was paying the highest money probably in the uk as to get it into Northern Ireland.

Yet to my astonishment I’ve been slated for charging extortionate prices when I was selling the product.
This product was one of the only EN1500 approved products in the market place and I did my best to keep people going and when nobody else could get it.
I was taking a very moderate margin on the product, yet someone seen fit to give the company a bad Google review as they thought I was just profiteering out of selling hand sanitiser.
I’m disgusted that someone would see fit to do such a thing and not have the guts to call me and discuss it, not to mention the free product I gave away to people that needed it most. (Sorry now I didn’t get pics taken giving it away as to get the credit for it like others)
But as is today people are brave to go to a keyboard and slate someone without knowing the facts.
I’ve worked my backside off to build up this business and I’ve always tried to do my best by people.

From today I will be taking a different approach to my business.
Thank you to all my loyal customers and to those who enjoy using the products.
Sometimes it pays to think before typing anything on a key board, because as the title says, we live on a small island and news travels fast.
I’m aware of the person and persons doing this and when the times right they will be confronted.
The thing is some run businesses themselves and are now ripping people off with the exact same products. Not to mention their employees, coming to me direct to tell me.

So much for supporting local businesses and helping each other out.

Rant over but it had to be said.
