But as you’ll hear - Bev’s not the kind of person to be pigeonholed. She got involved in social justice campaigns at a young age through women’s and LGBTQ+ rights. Now leading #Manchester, Bev is making sure that ALL people have places in which they feel safe and welcome, which has been right at the core of her political agenda throughout her career.

From a young Prince fan dreaming of performing on stage, to lecturing university students at just 21 years old, Kirsty’s career has had twists and turns, taking her from Westhoughton to Minneapolis. After more than 15 years of teaching at @salforduni, Kirsty now heads up the SODA project at @manmetuni, where she is driven to create #opportunities for young people of #Manchester within the digital industry. Alongisde that, Kirsty chairs the @manchesterjazzfestival and is a board member for the Greater Manchester Combined Authority's Music Commission. For the last two decades, Kirsty has dedicated her time to the arts and pop culture scene in Manchester and across the globe, and she doesn’t plan on stopping any time soon.
