Children’s mental health week🧠
Today I was down at Greswell Primary School in Denton delivering drama workshops to years 4 & 5 all centred around the topic of mental health!
This years theme was ‘My Voice Matters’ 🗣️ we worked through teamwork exercises, emotion exercises, communication exercises and in small groups devised sketches around how children can better manage their mental health!
The children were so creative! Super proud of how hard they worked! 🌟 We hope you all had fun and took away some techniques you can use when you’re feeling anxious, stressed or just a little down in the dumps! 💛
We can’t wait for our next workshop back at Greswell Primary soon! 👋🏼

✨Inspiring the next generation of Performers✨
Greswell Primary were in the Christmas spirit this week!🎄
All the decorations were up, and just in time as we we were working on some Christmas poems! 🎅🏼
The children had to work as a team to distribute the lines and present the poem in a creative way! Some really lovely work! Well done everyone! 🌟
👽ALIEN INVASION👽
At todays drama club we devised alien inspired pieces! The children were tasked with half of their group speaking a ‘gibberish’ alien language!
This task was all about learning the importance of body language, gestures and actions and also how we can use elements of the voice to portray emotions! Even though the aliens didn’t speak English, we knew exactly what they were saying!
AMAZING work! 🛸💚
Well done all! 🙌🏻
❗️🎩HATS OFF🎩❗️
Today at our weekly drama club down at Greswell Primary we used hats as props and stimuli for our devised pieces!
One groups hat inspired them to create a Charlie & The Chocolate themed piece!🍬
One groups hat inspired them to devise a play about a robbery of the Crown jewels!!👑
The final groups piece involved a scary clown that ruined a birthday party!🤡
Some amazing teamwork and creative ideas! Well done all! 🌟
Lest we forget 🌹
This week our drama lessons have been focused around Remembrance Day!
Working in small groups the children listened to a piece of music, created a story centred around Remembrance Day and devised a mime accompanied by the music!
The stories were beautiful and very moving, even bringing a tear to a few eyes!
Extremely proud of how the children handled this mature topic and created some very respectful and creative pieces ❤️
Last after school drama club before half term at Greswell Primary! 🕸️
Today was a spooky Halloween themed session looking at scenes from ‘Hocus Pocus’ 🎃
All children performed brilliantly, hope you all have a lovely half term break! 👻
Yesterday at Greswell Primary we were working on some ‘Pirate- Treasure Map’ scripts! 🏴☠️
The children used the script as the beginning of their scene and then devised different endings!
In some scenes the pirates found the treasure, in some scenes the map led them to a dead end, and some scenes ended on gripping cliffhangers! ☠️
Amazing imaginations! 💭
After School Clubs start back today! Yippee!! Can’t wait to see you all! 💙

THIS👇🏼💯
We are passionate about the positive effects that the performing arts can have on a child's confidence and self-esteem. Studies have shown that not only do drama classes improve children's self-esteem, but that positive self-esteem benefits children in the classroom as higher levels of self-confidence lead to children being more receptive to learning.
