What causes tooth decay?
There are many reasons why you could develop tooth decay. If you have teeth, whether they have crowns, bridges or fillings, you are at risk of developing cavities.
The following factors could increase your risk.
- High sugar diet
- Poor oral hygiene
- Low fluoride
- Dry mouth
- Crowded teeth
To help prevent tooth decay, you should -
- Brush twice a day with a fluoride toothpaste
- Interdental cleaning (floss or tepes)
- Keep sugary snacks and drinks to meal times only
- Keep up with routine checks ups with your dentist and hygienist
We always try our best to give a 5 star service. Thank you :)
"How often should I change your toothbrush"?
The answer is every 3 months.
Whether you use a manual or electric toothbrush it's important to make sure you're changing it at the recommended time. Because our brushes get used a minimum 2 times a day, the bristles will eventually start to fray. Frayed bristles lose their cleaning efficiency and this will cause you to leave plaque on your teeth.
If your have an electric toothbrush, remember it is only the brush attachment that needs to be changed, not the handle.
We want your dental experiences with us to be stress free, we're glad we manage to make that happen.
Thank you so much for this lovely review.
Happy Friday :)
By sitting on dental problems, you might make a small issue turn into a more complex problem. If you have pain in your mouth or jaw, its important to get it checked out.

"I wrote the review below a year ago and I have continued to receive an extremely high level of service from all the staff at Dash Dental Practice. If you are at all fearful of dentists, then you could not be in better hands as you will be so well looked after, from start to finish. They are always so flexible and accommodating and they really do deserve 5 stars"!

Congratulations to our trainee dental nurse Ebony on passing her exams. Its been a long road but she's nearly at the end. We're all really proud of her. :)
We often get asked the question, "What age should I start to bring my baby for routine appointments"?
We recommend to bring them along to your routine examination, this way they can get used to the dental environment. Once their teeth start to come through, bring them along so we can take a look. Once you've brought them in for their first appointment you can start to bring them every 6 months.
What a great evening we had last weekend, celebrating Ambers 30th birthday. We had a gorgeous meal out, finished with a games night at Sharons house. What a fantastic team we have.
