Introducing one of our favourite dishes on the inaugural Skof menu:

Broth of grilled onions, jersey royals cooked in aromats and pickled garlic.

We use parts of the onion that are not used for other dishes, minimising wastage at all costs. And the jersey royals and garlic are bang on in season. Combined with the broth infused with aromats we think it’s pretty special.

We wish you all a very happy Christmas as we’re signing off for the holidays. There’s a lot going on behind the scenes, which we can’t wait to tell you about in the new year. For now, we want to say a big thank you to everyone who has sent us a message, showed us love and generally offered support. We’re completely overwhelmed and can’t wait to return the favour when we open our doors next year.

Skof. Opening Spring 2024 in the Hanover Building, Manchester.

Three years in the making. It's hard to believe that it's finally coming together.

The name was inspired by my dad. He used to say, "get it scoffed" when tea was served. It's a nod to family, happy memories and the fact that flavour is always the most important element in every dish I cook.

I was born and raised in The Lakes, but I've always loved Manchester, and when I found this site, I knew it was the one. You'll step into the beautiful terracotta building and be greeted by a large open kitchen and our chefs working away at the pass.

The dishes will be deceptively simple. The atmosphere, light and fun. Something different for the restaurant scene in Manchester.

The first restaurant by Tom Barnes, opening Spring 2024 in Manchester.
