On the 20nd of September, we will kick off the celebrations with 🎉‘Folky Friday Festivities’. 🎉 Expect dance-inducing rhythms, 🌟 worldly Gypsy folk vibes, and Balkan Klezmer mastery from headline acts that will blow your socks off. 🎶

On Saturday, the 21st, we are back to our roots with 🎶 ‘Bartók’s Bazaar’, 🎶 packed with the complex melodies and diverse rhythms of Hungarian music from all around the Carpathian Basin, alongside the rich sounds of Polish folk and Balkan funk. 🎻🎺 Expect to see 10 distinctive live acts, including a world music collaboration, 🌍 Szeklerland’s best, and Budapest’s finest. 🎤

On Sunday, we will be having a 💃Táncház Ceilidh 🕺with an array of skillful dance groups, celebrating folk dance traditions from all around Eastern Europe, 🕺 followed by Welsh, Irish, Breton sounds, and Balkanic folky ska. 🎵 The UK's only zither band, 🎸 our favorite balalaika crew, and a world music collective will also perform. 🌍🎼

🎤We cannot wait to welcome Karolina Wegrzyn & Banda to , a unique ensemble showcasing some of the most beautiful and dancy folk sounds of Eastern Europe. Karolina is a Polish folk singer and musician, living in Birmingham.

🎻Growing up surrounded by folklore, her passion lies in preserving and sharing the rich cultural heritage of Poland, Ukraine, Slovakia, Roma people and the Balkan states.

🎼She collects folk songs by recording senior citizens in her native villages.

🏆In 2011 Karolina Wegrzyn was awarded by the Polish Ministry of Culture and in 2021 she was a laureate at the True Musician's Tournament in Szczecin, Poland.

🎧Karolina has just released her debut single “Rozczesała Rozpuściła (Wedding Song) on all streaming platforms, which will be followed by a full length album later this year.

🥳We are super excited to present one of our headline acts from Hungary, the exuberant Magyar Banda, set to perform on Saturday 21st September.

🎻A band formed by the most renowned young musicians of the Hungarian folk music movement. Their production, inspired from overseas, puts Hungarian musical culture on stage in a youthful, trendy way, with artists who are mostly known from pop-rock festival stages.

🎼🪗The members of the band have lived for music since birth, their virtuoso knowledge of instruments and innovative arrangement of folk songs are what immediately draw the audience into their special world.
