Valentine’s Day 2023
(I say this every year)
Boys, if you think you are against the odds and she is not the adventurous type, don’t bring her here!
Here is not the spot. Not romantic nor Instagramable. And we won’t be doing anything special. Sorry. Uncle is too tired.
See you on some other day.
Best of luck. Carpe diem.

Valentine's Day 2017
Well...I agree...
It is not the most romantic spot on earth.
It's small. Chairs are not comfortable.
There is that garlicky smell (because servers are peeling them right next to you)
Nearly everything has red hot chili pepper in it and brushing your teeth won't make it go away. They linger on, them fermented chilis.
There is no customer toilet. You can't book a table.
There is that grumpy chef who gets cranky whenever he hears the word "Tempura".
Boys, If it's your first date, and you think you are against the odds, and she is not the adventurous type... Don't bring her here!!
Why take a risk when your chances are slim to none in the first place.
Surrounding atmosphere and logistics are fundamental drills for first dates. Get that right and you are in there, even if you are ugly as a muel.
Northern Quater, Deansgate, Spinningfield, China Town, Curry Mile will have more suitable places. A piece of advice from your Korean uncle.
Having said that..
We are probably the perfect place for lone diners, group of solos and anyone who don't care at all about this, god awfully over-commercialised, internationally over-rated, day.
People still go to work, go to uni and eat, with or without romance. There is that niche and that is our market. So...
I have decided not to do anything "special" for today. It will just be a normal service. Don't expect a rose on the table or anything.
Although...
Heart shaped eggs for Bibimbap is doable..
Overload of Korean love songs and few candles..maybe...
Choco pie tempura... probably not..
Extra strong mouth wash in the toilet.. doable...it's probably there already.
See you.
An-nyong!

Kitchen Closed
a bit early this year due to some injuries among the staff -mental, physical. Sorry for any ininconvenience caused.
OPENING TIME CHANGE (Temporary)
Monday-Thursday, Dinner only 5-9
Friday-Saturday, Open as usual 12-3, 5-9
Until 8 November
_____________________
I apologies for the last minute update. Due to family circumstances, we will be reducing service hours for the next two weeks. One of us is going to Korea to sort it out and we will be short of hands. The reason is not Covid-19 related or foodborne issue so please don't be too alarmed. It is more of the course of time, "circle of life", entropy issue.
One cannot be too careful at this slightly nervous time, so rather than pushing it through, we will choose a safer option. I am sorry for any inconvenience caused, especially for the NHS staff at lunches.
Hope to keep seeing you at dinner time.
Thank you as always
(will try and fetch some good recipes from Seoul)
EAT-IN RESUMED
Monday to Saturday
12-3 and 5-9
*last order around 30mins before
Hello~ We will start with slightly less items, gradually build on and eventually redo what we have been doing before. Going back to that nice little Korean eatery. A half of taste is memory, isn’t it? Thank you.
DINE-IN POSTPONED until 30 MAY
TAKE AWAY ONLY FOR NOW
Due to chef’s foot injury.
—————————-
What luck. 3 days before resuming dine-in, I must have dropped something (heavy) on my foot. I pushed through the day but the pain was intolerable so I went to the AnE. A hairline crack is found on the bone. Two weeks of not putting any pressure is recommended.
It is a big whoops, causing hassle to everyone involved and a lost opportunity too.
A bitter pill to swallow but I will take this as a wake up call. Never felt so close to gravity before, every step is a tear jerker.
Stay safe everyone and sorry about the delay.

NOTES
It is in English.
Test runs were fine. Ordered one ourselves and it worked.
I found the drivers quite polite.
Like many other delievery platforms we won’t have the full control over how we are represented on the app but as of now, it is close as it can get.
It will be a bit pricey as the full price will be charged. NHS discount and TOHO discount can’t be applied here.
The illustrations on the app are slick. Too good, perhaps. I think they are like emojis rather than real pictures.
Tips - I don’t quite understand this tipping part (before being served?) so I say don’t worry about it unless you just can’t fight the urge.
It is all very techy techy and poor boss does not seem to have a clue what on earth is going on. God bless her old school soul.
So it would be the best to call or message kitchen directly for any problems;
