NRLA chief executive Ben Beadle has told BBC Newsnight that the supply crisis now facing the PRS is of the Government's own making. On last night's programme he rejected calls for rent controls and temporary rent freezes and instead said ministers need to tackle the root of the issue. He said the Government must reverse Section 24 mortgage interest relief changes and unfreeze Local Housing Allowance to encourage landlords to continue to invest in the sector and provide the homes to rent that the country so desperately needs.
