Dear comrades and friends
The Red Roots Collective, in collaboration with Gaskell Garden Project, are preparing to commemorate the transnational struggle of revolutionary socialists and feminists against the religious dictatorship in Iran.
One of the main projects is to create a mural of Jina Amini on the wall of Niamos Center in Hulme, Manchester. This is so that people of our communities will remember the symbol of "Woman, Life, Freedom" movement in Iran.
To organise this project of solidarity we need to raise a minimum of Β£1500. All of which will go towards the painting of the mural, food, venue hire and most importantly paying artists and poc muscians from minority backgrounds who are invited to perform at our event on the 24th of September.
Please show your solidarity by supporting this project which will have a long-lasting effect on communities involved!
Iran Solidarity Campaign Murder of Jina (Mahsa) Amini, on 16th of September 2022, by the so-called morality police in Iran sparked waves of protests, not only inside Iran, but also around the globe. The slogan βwoman, life, freedomβ turned into a global expression for the progressive movement led by those who fi

This ones a fundraiser, all money raised will go to commission a local muralist to paint a portrait of Jina Amini on the Niamos centre in Hulme. We want to carve the image of Jina to commemorate a year of struggle and resistance in Iran.
We'll have a short talk from Red Roots Collective on the Woman*, Life, Freedom movement and women's on going resistance in Iran.
We will be auctioning artwork from local artists with live music from No Rest for the Surfers!
Would be great to have your support and you can grab some beautiful art and good grub in the process!
Hope to see you there π
