Although the RNCM Junior Fellowship has been a thing for nearly 50 years, our Masters programme only started in the mid-2000s. Daniel Bartholomew-Poyser was one of our early students and he now has a fantastic career which includes positions with the San Francisco Symphony and Toronto Symphony Orchestra, and gigs with Thorgy Thor. Brilliant final concert of the year The Bridgewater Hall! Former Junior Fellow in Conducting Gergely Madaras returned to the RNCM with a thrilling Mahler 1. Final year Masters student Maria Camila Barbosa Aristizábal conducted the premiere of Emily Pedersen’s Immersion. Winnie Su (herself a promising conductor) was the soloist in Beethoven’s 4th concerto. Bravi tutti!

✨ On Wednesday 5 June, join conducting talents from the UK, Austria, and Finland as they direct the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra in a varied programme of works by Debussy, Gregson, & Elgar, jointly presented by the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and BBC SSO.
Our very own Sectional Principal Trombone, Simon Johnson, is the soloist in Gregson's Trombone Concerto.
