These are my pictures hung ready for the Art Exhibition at Manningtree Methodist Church over the Easter weekend.

This must be my orange phase! Another 30 x 25 ready to go to Manningtree Methodist church art exhibition over the Easter weekend.

I love painting my large sunsets but realise that some people might not have the space for them. My favourite size to paint is 100x70cms but I’ve been trying to go smaller recently and have finally reached this size, 30x25cms. I think that’s my limit!

Well, I’ve started my first project. It’s going to take me a LOT of hours to complete it !

I’ve not done much painting for a while. I’ve been busy making other things!

This wonderful sunset tonight will be inspiration for some more paintings! The rainbow was at the same time as the sunset!

Socrates: 'Before you speak, ask yourself these 3 questions'

Socrates (469 – 399 BC), the great Greek philosopher, was once stopped by an acquaintance as he passed through the markets.

“I’ve something important to tell you,” he said. “It’s about your friend.”

“That’s very kind of you,” Socrates said. “But, don’t tell me just yet. I run all information through the Three Filters Test to ascertain if I want to know it.”

The man looked somewhat puzzled as Socrates continued, “First is the filter of truth. Whatever you want to tell me, have you seen or witnessed it first-hand?”

“Umm…I actually heard it from someone,” the man said, “and, it is from a trusted source.”

“Alright. But that does not pass my first test,” Socrates added, “since you don’t know whether it’s true.”

“Second is the filter of goodness. Is that a good statement you want to make about my friend?”

“Not really. That’s the reason I wanted—”

Socrates interjected, “So, you want to tell me something bad about someone but don’t know if it’s true.”

“The last is the filter of utility.” He continued, “Your statement about my friend, is that gonna be useful to me?”

“Not really as such. I just wanted to share”

“Well, if the information is not necessarily true, it is not good, and, it is of no use,” Socrates concluded, “please, I don’t want to know about it.”

What a fantastic first day we had of our brand new art trail - Art Around The Walls - Mistley, Manningtree and Lawford Art Trail. But don't worry if you missed it yesterday as we are doing it all again today. 16 venues showing more than 22 artists to visit before 5pm today.

I have just finished this painting this morning! It’s a big one - 100x70cms. On show at venue 16 of Manningtree Art Trail.

This is the last of the pieces donated to our sealed bids art auction at to share with you. This Sunset by Kay Lucas Artist is the perfect way to end the day and she is number 16 on trail, but definately one not to be missed. Why not start with number 16 first, who said you have to follow numerical order!

This is one of the paintings in the auction at Navistitch, Manningtree. On until Sunday 2nd July. All money bid will go to local community projects.

Unfortunately this picture will not be on display as it was sold at my last exhibition in Navistitch BUT there will be lots of other paintings!
