What a transformation.... Possibly my favourite job lately

Lovely transformation of a top end engineered wood floor here in Melbourne over the last couple of days. Sadly the owners were given the wrong impression and advice when it was laid, saying it comes pretreated but suffered terribly from water damage... The beauty of wood however is that almost anything can be remedied and this has to be one of our most satisfying jobs to date

Floor sanding & finishing (Rustic)

Here's some options for how decking can come out even after several seasons of brutal weather when treated properly. This was a plank replaced where the other end was completely rotten but the remainder definitely salvageable.

In order of colour;

Clear
Stripped pine
Medium oak
Brown mahogany
Antique mahogany
Jacobean
Black
Green

All of which can be mixed to create a custom colour and then 2 coats of decking oil for maximum protection which has a UV blocker (sunscreen) to stop the wood going silver and a biocide to inhibit mould (turning black)

Once done it would only be a matter of a clean, dry and another coat of oil once a year and then it will potentially last forever 👍🏼

Spring is almost here so we're applying everything we've learned about floors for decking and garden furniture.

Two packages available to cater for different budgets but roughly the same messless, jetwasherless and dustless sanding operation... Either a spruce up to last a couple of seasons or a full overhaul using rubbed in light-fast stain (so it doesn't peel off or wear away quickly) then finished with UV blocking & Biocidal anti-slip top coats. Well I never thought we'd be able to colour match this parquet floor up after the hearth infill was done with the wrong colour wood (not by us). Very happy with this result
