Whitley Village School is a fantastic school that is proud to be part of the Rowan Learning Trust.
Year 1 had a fantastic afternoon with Dr Mechie (Tristan’s mum), who taught them all about how to keep their bodies and teeth clean. They also learnt all about medicines and who can give them medicine. A big thank you to Dr Mechie for giving up her time to share some valuable knowledge with the children.

From Whitley Rose Queen to weightlifting champion It has been quite the week for Phoebe Hodgson for two very different reasons.
Great to see our English work being celebrated by The Literacy Company. Each term they come in to school and work alongside staff to moderate writing across school and help us to ensure our standards are always high.

280,000 of the best mathematical minds in years 7 and 8 across the world entered the Junior Maths challenge .
The top 12000 of these are invited to the Junior Kangaroo, 10 of our students qualified.
25% of these are awarded a merit certificate. The Merit mark this year was 103.
4 Weaverham students have been awarded this.

When you’ve got left over paint from a maths activity, and an abundance of cardboard boxes from a book order, you might as well combine the two and do some large scale painting!
Reception and Year 1 loved creating their own minibeast habitats today and finding bugs to put in it. 🪲🐛🐞🪳
Reception have re-written the story of Gigantosaurus and turned it into their own book. They then made their own dinosaurs. We think the display looks great. Well done Reception!
We were so pleased the sun finally made an appearance this afternoon after months of cold damp weather! ☀️
We had a lovely morning in Reception with a visit from the Pre School children.
A little reception round up!
One of our reception friends was telling us all about salt water crocodiles. After a bit of research we discovered they were 6m long. We measured out 6m and drew a life size crocodile. We then worked as a team to colour it all in. First4Maths Academy
It’s been a busy second week for Year 1. This week they have completed a First4Maths Academy Digging deeper challenge, begun learning about Islam in R.E, created timelines in History and this afternoon they are learning how to sew with Miss Bostock!

Reception are giving their fingers a work out with some sensory fun in the sun this morning.
Sunflower class opened the story box today and received some clues to their new text. They then used all the items from the story box to create a lovely beach scene. The Literacy Company
