The construction of the new pharmacy adjoining our Nunthorpe Surgery has started today (with Seymours as the main contractor). The anticipated programme is for 12 weeks.

A springtime COVID booster will be available from May 2024 for patients who are: -
• Aged 75 and over.
• Aged 18 and over and who are immunosuppressed.
• Are residing in an older persons’ care home.

Great news for so many sufferers!

Have you noticed more bins in our male toilets recently?

We are proud to announce that we are the first hospital trust in the North East to install sanitary bins in its male toilets.

This is part of Prostate Cancer UK's Boys Need Bins campaign which aims to raise awareness for men suffering with incontinence.

The bins can be found in areas within James Cook Hospital and a wider rollout across the organisation is planned.

Sam Davison, clinical procurement specialist nurse, said: “The installation of the bins and accompanying information posters have been life-changing for our patients.

"They can now attend their hospital appointments comfortably knowing they have somewhere to safely dispose of their sanitary waste.”

Our wellbeing walks are a fantastic chance to go out, be active, explore the beautiful sceneries our area offers and meet new people.

There are over 20 weekly walks all across Redcar and Cleveland, all of them led by experienced walk leaders, raging from 30 to 90 minutes so that people of all ages can enjoy a nice walk at a comfortable pace.

March is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month.
