🌟 Prioritize Your Mental Health 🌟

✨ It's time to shine a light once again on our mental health.

💭💛 In the hustle and bustle of life, it's easy to get caught up in the daily grind and forget to take care of ourselves. But remember, you are important, and your well-being matters! ✨

🌸 Today, I want to remind you of the power of prioritizing your mental health. 🌸 Take a moment to pause, breathe, and give yourself the love and attention you truly deserve. 🙏💕

💆‍♀️ Self-care isn't selfish—it's essential! 💆‍♂️ It's about carving out time for activities that nourish your mind, body, and soul. Whether it's indulging in a good book, going for a refreshing walk in nature, or simply having a heartfelt conversation with a loved one, make time for what brings you joy and peace. 🌿✨

🗓️ Remember to set boundaries and give yourself permission to say no when needed. Your mental health deserves your full attention, and that means creating space for rest, reflection, and rejuvenation. 💆‍♀️

💛 Reach out and connect with others—seek support when you need it. We all face challenges, and there is strength in asking for help. Together, we can build a network of support, empathy, and understanding. 🤝💞

🌟 Let's start a movement of self-love and mental well-being. 🌟 Today, I encourage you to join me in making a conscious effort to prioritize your mental health. Together, we can break the stigma and create a world where mental well-being is valued, nurtured, and celebrated. 🌍💙

💫 Remember, you are worthy, you are loved, and your mental health matters. 💫 Take the first step today towards a brighter, healthier, and happier you! 🌟✨

Domestic violence is a global issue that affects people of all ages, genders, and cultures. However, cultural beliefs and traditions can make it harder for some victims to seek help and escape abuse. It's important to recognize the impact of culture on domestic violence and work towards creating a more inclusive and supportive society for survivors.

Photos from Herwell Mind's post 03/02/2023

Partner abuse is more common than most think and can happen in many forms.
You do not have to wait for an emergency situation to find help. If domestic abuse is happening to you, it's important to tell someone and remember you're not alone.

Burnout happens when you're overwhelmed, emotionally drained, and unable to keep up with life's incessant demands. It's a result of excessive and prolonged emotional, physical, and mental stress. Though it's usually common in the work environment, burnout can also be experienced when trying to manage your family life. As a woman, when feeling overwhelmed and exhausted with home responsibilities eg. chores, kids, etc., how do you handle the situation to still maintain a healthy mental space?

29/08/2022

There's always another option than that "lost" feeling....

30/07/2022

Bullying can leave a long term negative mental health impact on both the parties involved. Some could be bullying others without even knowing it. Here are examples of bullying.
Please desist from participating in any of such behaviour.

If you have ever been in an you must have experienced this more than once. To outsiders your abuser is perfect, some expect you to feel lucky you have someone in your life. Have you experienced this? It is very frustrating especially when you are trying to speak up and they find it difficult to believe you because of the perfect image the has created by pretence.

We've all been there...
Financial worries enable anxiety and depression and often limit the support you can afford. It's heartbreaking when you can't afford to buy that much needed medication for your child or when you don't know where your next meal would come from. Or that anxiety each time you climb up the stairs to your apartment hoping to not come face to face with your landlord because you're late on rent. Some are forced to remain in abusive relationships because they financially depend on the abuser.

What do you need to get you out of that cycle of lack?

You need to learn to take risks.

~ Take a risk and save up for that course that could land you in better paying job

~ Take a risk and talk to that connection you have that could put your foot forward in that job application

~ Take a risk and sale that craft or paintwork you made that is collecting dust in your basement

~ Take a risk and financially enable yourself to finally be able to leave that abusive relationship

It's not easy but you're stronger than you know and you're capable of achieving whatever you set your mind to.

Grief and loss can affect people in different ways.

It is the worst feeling in the world to have to suffer the loss of a loved one.

If you've ever lost someone close to you like I have, then you'd understand the shock and numbness when you first heard that terrible news, then comes the overwhelming sadness with crying in btw, then the exhaustion and more cries, after which the anger and guilt. Guilt about something you said or didn't say, guilt about something you did or didn't do for that loved one.

A few of us have gone down that rabbit hole of excruciating pain and lack of zeal. Some without support.

It's even worse to go through loss alone. No one to cry on or with. No one to recount memorable stories of the loved one with.

Through it all, I want you to remember that it's ok to grieve. It's ok to let it all out. Cry as much as you want.

There is no right or wrong way to feel but there are a few ways to ensure you don't negatively affect your mental health while you grieve:

1. Try to talk about your feelings with friends and families or trained professional.

2. Consider peer support groups where people share their experiences with each other.

3. Always ask for help when you need it.

I remember a time when I thought I could only be what society or culture expected of me. I found myself going through the motions~~ Wake up, breakfast, attend to family, go to work , come home, attend to family and sleep. The unending cycle! 🙄 I love my family and my profession but I felt I could achieve more career wise. I was afraid to take a step in that direction because culture had made it so I and other women are expected to only aspire to nuture their families. Your career, if you are stubborn enough to have one, 😏 , has to be something that won't take you away from your primary duties of family care.
I was "nurturing my family but still felt unfulfilled and a bit depressed. I cut off from friends and even though I was surrounded by people, I still felt alone.
I get that... Family is everything...but who says we can't do both? By the time I opened my mind to all the possibilities that still mean I won't sacrifice my family in the process, I had lost some precious youthful years. That didn't deter me , I went ahead to make connections, pursued a higher academic degree, and now following my dream. My mental health is in a better place because I'm purpose driven. You can too. But first, you have to have a "growth mindset". It was this growth mindset that has helped me get to where I am now. What is this growth mindset you may ask?

“Growth mindset,” a phrase commonly thrown around in the business world, is a belief that you can grow and improve. A “fixed mindset” assumes that we can’t change our character, intelligence, etc, in any meaningful way. If you want to grow your mind, you will not see failure as an evidence of unintelligence but as a ladder for growth and for challenging our existing abilities.

Bringing this phenomenon into mental wellbeing, don't allow societal/cultural norms limit your ability to grow and improve.
As a woman, what you can achieve is limitless. You are tenacious and capable of anything you set your mind to do.
Adopting a growth mindset allows you to identify new challenges and take them on...

Theses 5 steps can be your starting point.
