How can theatre and the arts authentically represent the diverse experiences of women and foster meaningful conversations about s*x, fertility, and femininity? Is this enough?’

We will be hosting a unique discussion panel, as part of ***rafmk where we will question the authenticity of women’s stories and experiences portrayed in theatre and the arts. We will be discussing the challenges of breaking away from stereotypical portrayals, and the role of intersectionality in ensuring that all women’s voices are heard. The discussion will also consider how these representations can challenge societal norms and encourage broader conversations about gender, identity, and the female experience.

What a fantastic summer it has been! 😃

As children head back to school, the six weeks of fun with the Flitwick Free Summer Programme 2024, funded by The National Lottery Community Fund, have come to an end.

We are thrilled to have hosted 664 children and parents for numerous activities, including the Street Dance Workshop, Circus Workshop, Movie Days, Graffiti Workshop, Bug Hotel, Mini Olympics, and Cooking Sessions. 🐛🌿🥊🎖🎪🎬

FREE Headstart Drama course for 13 - 17 year olds, starts on Tuesday 10th September. Places still available - hurry, book now!
During our 12 week course young people will learn and explore drama skills that will encourage independent creativity, building confidence and self esteem. The aim of this programme is to support the group to create a piece of drama; the form, style and subject matter of the piece will be inspired by the young people themselves. Participants will be encouraged to take creative lead on the project, making it relevant and relatable to the young people and their current experiences and opinions.

Hope every is having a good end of the week and looking forward to the weekend. I just wanted to update that selected DJs from the collective will be providing the soundtrack to this event happening in just under 2 weeks time. We have been instructed to cater for several of MKs breakers so will be playing a selection of original B-Boy Breaks, Early Hip Hop and Electro combined with a selection of family friendly foot tapping funky music between the performances. QueerArtsFestival | Milton Keynes | 21st -24th Nov 2024 Welcome to QueerAF Milton Keynes. Multi-disciplinary speculations, investigations, and celebrations of q***r, black and women led art and performance. An essentially-different arts festival for a city that is, different by design.
