Last week some of our students took part in a first aid and CPR session, where they learned and practised some life saving skills. Well done to all the students and parents who participated, and a huge thank you to Greg and Karen for taking the time to organise and run this session for us.

On the 4th April we will be having a bit of a fun but serious night at the 7pm kids class, consisting of some first aid training including CPR. It will be casual dress, so loose fitting clothing is ideal for the session. Parents are actively encouraged to join in as well. This will be run by our very own Greg and Karen, who are both front-line ambulance crews, so we will be assured of a great night of training from knowledgeable and highly experienced people. The 8pm class will still take place, so anyone that wants to train after then bring your Gi to change into. We look forward to seeing you then.

A breakfall, or ukemi, is a movement preformed to prevent injury when landing. Breakfalls are necessary in martial arts that utilize grappling, takedowns and/or throwing techniques (such as Aikido, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Hapkido, or Judo).

Next grading date is Sunday 24th March. Time to be advised. Your instructor will be updating their class as to who will be grading.

Just a reminder that regular classes are not on tonight instead we will be meeting at the navigation pub for an awards night, followed by free food and quizzes.

Hi all. Just a quick message. For those of you that might not have seen the message on membermojo. We are having the Club AGM on Thursday 11th January at The Navigation Pub (just up the road from the dojo) followed by a fun night afterwards, including a free meal, quiz, prizes and awards. This is open to all members including families. It starts at 7pm prompt then finishes whenever you want or when the pubs shuts!!! If you haven't booked numbers through the message from Mark, then please reply on here by 6pm Sunday night so we can confirm catering numbers.

🎄 Christmas opening times🎄

We will be closed from Christmas eve until Wednesday 3rd January.

This means the last Children's class will be Thursday 21st December. Reopening Thursday the 4th January.

For Senior Students who want to train throughout the Christmas period, the Wednesday and Friday classes will continue to run between Christmas and New year.

Well done to everyone who achieved a higher grade at our Junior grading on Sunday. Everyone did incredibly well and demonstrated some superb tecniques.

Your one month reminder that the next grading is on November 26th.

💥Upcoming events💥

The next Kyu grading for Junior and Senior Students is on Sunday the 26th of November.

The next Dan grading is on Sunday 24th September.

We would also like to invite our Junior 1st & 2nd kyu's who have recently moved up into Senior classes to attend the Dan grading to uke. This would be a great opportunity for them to see what a Dan grading is like, and understand the expectations required, in preparation for their own Dan gradings in the future.

It's Mirfield show on Sunday! We'll be doing demonstrations throughout the day. If any Junior or senior students are available on the day (I know a lot of you are on holiday) and would like to participate in our demonstrations, please let us know. More details will be given to anyone interested.
