Homestead Hanger : 001 Sea pinks on the Brough o’ Birsay 💕 I finally took some time today to finish one of the many Homestead Wall Hangings I started months ago. I really enjoyed being able to get creative making these. I added some top stitch to give a bit more texture and a lovely Ellen Baker printed fabric to finish it off on the back. I love that they are made using offcuts of Harris Tweed which helps to reduce waste and increase sustainability. This one is for one of my very best friends who had some heartbreaking news today 🥰😢 I will be making more though so if see this post or would like to see more Homestead Hangers then please leave me a wee comment below! Homestead Number 50 has been in for a little facelift! I don’t think I would have believed when I made this stool in Jan 2017 that I would be approaching 500 footstools! Natalie chose a lovely Linwood Fabrics Omega Velvet in rose pink to go with her new living room colour scheme with rich green and tan leather. I can’t wait to see it back at home. I started work on this chair in 2016! It’s taken 7 years to finish but I’m pretty pleased with the results. This is chair was last upholstered in 1966 so it was due for an upgrade from its green leatherette that was tired and worn. Unlike most chairs that are upholstered in one piece this one came apart so I upholstered the seat, back and arms separately. It’s sat in pieces under my work bench for years so it feels good to finally put it back together. It’s finished in a lovely woven fabric from @linwood_fabric called Pampas in the chilli colourway with a lovely green omega velvet trim.
