Beautiful things by the beautiful Bay
Happy Easter Weekend🌼🐣
We found a fawn laying in between the legs of it's dead mother, who had been hit by s car. So we took her in. Now she thinks she's a dog.

Massage can be seen as a beautiful combination of both madness and magic. Let me explain:
Madness: When we think of madness, we often associate it with a sense of chaos or unpredictability. In the context of massage, madness can refer to the incredible array of techniques, styles, and approaches available. From deep tissue to Swedish, Thai to hot stone, there are countless modalities that can be used to address specific needs and preferences. The vastness of options can sometimes feel overwhelming, but it also highlights the diversity and creativity within the field of massage therapy. Choosing
a style and technique that works for you is key.
Magic: On the other hand, massage can also be seen as magical. The power of touch and human connection is truly transformative. Through skilled hands and intuitive touch, massage has the ability to create a sense of deep relaxation, release tension, and promote healing within the body and mind. The magic lies in the ability to tap into the body's innate wisdom and facilitate a state of balance and harmony.
Massage combines the madness of variety and choice with the magic of healing touch. It's a practice that honors the complexity and uniqueness of each individual, offering a space for rejuvenation, restoration, and self-care.
Whether you view massage as madness, magic, or a beautiful blend of both, there's no denying its potential to enhance well-being and promote a sense of holistic balance.

7 days to go before Baylight!
Excitement is mounting and social media channels are humming with plans to make a splash at Baylight’23 or to just go along to see the amazing new Light Art show on Morecambe Prom.
With 17 installations and experiences there will be something for all ages - such as
- The immersive Illumaphonium next to the sailing club hut
- Five Angels of Freedom next to the RNLI boatshed
- Laser Lights you can control with your phone in the gardens
- A homage to the Morecambe Illuminations at Yesterlight
- The soothing meditation of Harmonic Portal - and many more.
Baylight’23 is open from 6 to 10pm for three nights, 16-18 February 2023. It will take place on Morecambe seafront from the Midland Hotel to the Lord Street roundabout.
On the night of Friday 17th, bands, stilt-walkers and children showing their creations will be on the Parade from 6.15 – from the Mountainscape to the Midland Hotel.
Already hundreds of people have downloaded the Event Guide from WWW.BAYLIGHTMORECAMBE.CO.UK and printed paper copies will be available in Morecambe shops, pubs and restaurants from Monday 13th February.
County Councillor Aidy Riggott Lancashire County Council cabinet member for economic development and growth, said: “The team at Morecambe Sparkle has done a terrific job putting this exciting new show together in one of Lancashire’s most beautiful settings - Morecambe Bay.
“Baylight ‘23 looks to be the start of something which will bring new visitors and investment to Morecambe for decades to come. I’m very pleased to be supporting this project through
the Lancashire Economic Recovery and Growth fund.”
Morecambe’s cafés, pubs and restaurants have been creating new ideas for food and drink “on the hoof” especially for every night of Baynight – 46 hospitality and F&B businesses will be staying open for the evening. “It’s lovely to see a Morecambe-based evening event added to the yearly calendar and we are happy to support it” said Paolo Brucciani of the famous Grade II listed café on Marine Road, while Michelle Spetch of After’s Dessert Parlour said “it’s perfect for us, it’s what we’re here for year-round anyway!”
John O’Neill from Morecambe BID, which has put in match funding for Baylight, said “Since the Prime Minister’s announcement on funding the Eden Project this is a real chance for Morecambe Businesses to show that we are Eden-ready to re-launch Morecambe as a year-round resort”.

Baylight’23 is the name for Morecambe’s Light Art Trail
Morecambe Sparkle CIC is pleased to announce that the plans for a new light festival in Morecambe have been given the green light following the feasibility study carried out in 2022. The festival will take place over 3 days during February Half Term – the dates are 16 to 18 February and the event is free entry for the public.
It will be open, in the dark, from 6pm to 10pm.
Called Baylight’23, the art trail comprises 12 installations and experiences designed and developed by international and national artists. The art pieces are not only artistically intriguing but also entertaining and interactive – inspiring for the grown-ups and fun for the kids.
The setting for the exhibition is Morecambe Seafront - along the part which faces the town centre with its pubs and restaurants open for warm drinks and snacks for visitors. It will run along the curving shapes of Morecambe Bay for just over a mile from the Sailing Club Jetty to the Midland Hotel and Stone Jetty.
Many of the exhibits reflect or symbolise the beauty of Morecambe Bay’s environment and, with a rising tide in the evenings, the installations will be reflected in the water.
Lancashire County Council has awarded £425,000 towards Phase 2 of the project over two years from its £12.8m Economic Recovery & Growth Fund, which was set up to support projects which can help local economies to bounce back from the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic. Baylight’23 also has match funding from Morecambe Town Council and Morecambe BID.
County Councillor Aidy Riggott, Lancashire County Council cabinet member for economic development and growth, said: "Morecambe Sparkle CIC's plans promise to bring a real boost to the town over what are usually quieter months for local businesses by reinventing winter illuminations in a way which is unique to Morecambe.
"Baylight 23 will be just the start of something which we hope will bring new visitors and investment along with opportunities for residents and businesses for decades to come.
"We established the Lancashire Economic Recovery and Growth fund to be able to give projects like this the boost they need to get off the ground and I can't wait to see how these installations look against the wonderful setting of Morecambe Bay."
“I can’t think of a better place to put art!” Joe Wilson, Radio Lancashire, 2 January 2023
