After a very enjoyable eight months in the Arndale Morecambe Bay Centre, sadly we’re having to remove our gelato & coffee trailer. The landlord has indicated they would like to achieve more rent for the space than I’m currently paying, and it’s more than I think it’s worth, or prepared to pay. Since we started last Winter, there are now more empty units in the Centre than when we started, so I do hope there’s a grand plan for it, because I do believe the Arndale has a great deal of potential. I hope it’s realised in the future.
A huge thank you to all the wonderful new customers we’ve made along the way, who have supported daily, from the moment we opened - many of them staff from within the Centre.
Happy to say we’ve seen many of them venturing to Miogelato on the Promenade and to Miaitalia - hopefully that will continue! Big thank you to the security and cleaning team in the Arndale too, they’re all a credit to the Centre - and they’ve been big supporters.
Who knows, maybe we will be back in there sometime in the future. I have considered sharing a unit with other businesses, so if you’re a small business looking to move, or look to start up, get in touch - shared costs could make it much more viable. Thank you again to all customers who have kept us going in the Arndale, hopefully we will see you before we depart. Our last day will be Saturday 15th June. Thank you, David and team Miaitalia/Miogelato

🔵Morecambe BID Celebrates a Major Milestone for Eden Project Morecambe!🔵
🔵Morecambe, 23 May 2024 – The sun is shining brighter over Morecambe Bay today as we share some exciting news about the Eden Project Morecambe. After months of anticipation, the first £5 million of government funding has been released, marking a significant step forward in this transformative project!
🔵Gearing Up for Groundbreaking
We know what you’re thinking—“When will we see some action on site?” Well, our patience is about to pay off. This initial funding is set to kickstart the next phase, allowing Eden Project Morecambe to continue into the construction phase. You might want to keep those hard hats handy, as work could be visible by the end of this year.
🔵What's Next?
The Eden Project Morecambe team will roll up their sleeves and dive into the development phase as the funds flow in. While we await the finalisation of the full £50 million in private funding, this initial 5 million boost confirms a continuation of the progress by the Eden team. The Eden Project Morecambe site is due to host various events over the summer, but as autumn begins, you may spot the first signs of Eden Project Morecambe taking shape this year.
🔵A Community Affair
This isn’t just a win for Eden; it’s a win for us all. Eden Project Morecambe promises to bring a wave of positive change, boost local businesses, increase tourism, and cement our beloved Morecambe as a vibrant hub of activity.
🔵For more updates and information, stay tuned to Morecambe BID’s channels. We’ll keep you posted every step of the way!

Like Elton John’s piano at St Pancras Station in London, there’s one in Arndale Morecambe Bay that’s free to play - we have occasional players but it would be great to see much more! Just ask security team for the key, and they will turn the other music off whilst you play. The acoustics are pretty good and the coffee is lovely 😉☕️🍦
